Thanks, Pop! I honestly was just about to post that link, too.
However, neither the Pro-advocate nor the Con-advocate in their discussions address what I think are Doctor Jampel's very reasonable and balanced comments, i.e. that the apparently short duration of action of cannabis on ocular pressure, as well as other effects that some people might see as undesirable, make it less than an ideal agent. One might add that the relative efficacy of different batches of a natural product might make consistent dosages difficult. As I am sure you know, it is often pointed out that the AMA was against making marijuana illegal when the bill to tax it was proposed in Congress, but Speaker Rayburn flat our lied to the members about that. (Of course the AMA was against just about everything that Rayburn proposed.) Unless I am mistaken, cannabis was prescribed for migraine with some success, as well. I think Osler's textbook mentions it, and I believe that it was found in the Burroughs Wellcome catalogue. |

It seems as if it has some legiminate and just like any other drug it also has side affects. All drugs seem to have side affects so it must be researaached and decided if they side effects outweigh the benefits. I have no idea whether they do or don't. However there is nothing that it can help or cure that another drug will not do also. That is not saying it is not beneficial as a mediction as many drugs do the smae thing for patients and doctors prescribe them for different reasons. however again I said that it seems that it can be taken in the form of a pill and that is not what the fuss is about but rther in the form of a joint or lets call it a cigarette. I don''t see the wnat to have people saing legaliae pills...but rather pot and weed...not eactly the same as a pill. I do not think anyone ehre can dispute that being taken in the form of a pil is much more controlled dosage then smlking it. So do they really want a cure or a high?
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000

If you mean smoker's being too lazy to go to work or to keep the jobs they have, I doubt it. Everyone I know who smokes pot are not only working but have been on the same job for many years (I have been on the same job for 15 years). Lazy people are just that, lazy. People with ambition and goals in Life will not be losing their jobs because they smoke (unless they smoke at work). Unfortunatly, the drug tests that are used in the workplace don't tell if you are under the influence of Marijuana. The test just shows if you have used Marijuana in the last week or months (depending on ratio of fat in one's body). The test is for metabolites not THC. Alcohol, Cocaine, Heroin etc... does not show up on a test within hours of use, not the weeks or months that the Marijuana test shows. This is just one reason I am against drug testing (except in criminal cases). Iven
