The last two have been reminiscent of the '21 card trick'. So much process that the end result isn't as impressive. Though for sure not as bad as the 21 card trick, they just have too much going on.
That said - wonderfully made, and clever concepts. And I also love the idea of something I can carrying my wallet.

Bugjack,
I respect Eric's informed opinion. I wonder why you would write that about me? James Quote: On 2012-06-28 22:24, bugjack wrote:

Oh no! Sorry bugjack!
The posts you quoted mixed together with the post answered. I thought the person Musclemag was just trolling. Sorry again. I know you are a member. You must think I am a real jerk. Apologies!! James Quote: On 2012-06-29 01:50, bugjack wrote:

James, thanks for the post -- it is easy to mix things up on these long threads.

I think jtmorris hit it on the head. I too likened the last two installments to the 21 card trick. A ton of boring process for very minimal payoff. Reading the instructions alone was boring so I can't imagine actually sitting through the effects. In this day and age when attention spans are about 3 seconds long and people are used to highly visual special effects, I just can't imagine any spectator sitting through these and having any kind of postiive reaction. Who knows. Maybe I'm wrong.

I think jtmorris hit it on the head as well!
The really genius idea is that you are always thinking that the next installment will be worth it so you don't cancel for fear of what you might miss out on.

I am late to the party and #4 is my first one. So far am intriqued and see some real possiblities... looking forward to the next releases. The bonus item can be very nicely routined with Burn Notice from Blue Crown... http://www.thebluecrown.com/store/tricks/burn-notice.html.

I think it's just a fundamental flaw with the effects. It's magic 101. Remember that moment when you realized why the 21 card trick is not a good trick? These reasons are present here. But like mentioned above, I'm still hopeful and eagerly awaiting the next installment!

I'm confused. Can anyone please tell me exactly what this magazine is? I understand it has magic tricks and their methods in it, but does it have anything else? How many illusions does it usually have in an issue? Also it seems that it includes gimmicks and such? Thanks.

RS4 contained 3 things. Without giving too much away we received....
A trick An unrelated utility gimmick with lots of possibilities ...and a few 'mystery' items I'm sure there's more RS will say about the contents. The programme is delivering value far beyond what I expected so far. In particular I like the thinking around the presentation of each effect. Keep it up guys.

Iain, thanks for reposting the rules.
I don't see how what I've posted gives away anything that reveals the effects and their secrets. Certainly I've said less than most (i.e. those making comparisons with the 21 card trick). Iain, if you think I've overstepped the mark then report my post and it will get deleted I'm sure. I would delete it myself but seen as you've posted after me (rather then pm me) I can't. I'm just happy that the RS guys are looking after us. That's all.

Jamie,
You didn't break the rules. Don't worry about it. Mine has not arrived but I wait with baited breath (and a little contempt for my mailman, I just know he has my stuff but us holding back) James Quote: On 2012-06-30 07:24, Jamie Ferguson wrote:

Here is a quote from Richard Kaufman on the Genii forum that bears repeating here:
"I will repeat this for those of you who haven't joined yet: this is the best $15 a month I've spent in many years. The guys at Real Secrets are doing exactly what they promised." Terry |

Hmmm...Wouldn't that be grand. Everyone gets things in different orders through the year, and since no one can talk about it, no one knows. I really liked my number 4.

That's a fantastic handling. I've been doing the effect since it came out a few years ago and may switch to this handling.
