Seems to be a pretty good value for what you get .

I set up the new TKO and gave it a first run at my gig tonight. I used it sparingly as I need to practice more with it. I did try card to impossible place a couple of times - once to my shoe and once into the spectator's camera case. It got big reactions. Also did a silver dollar vanish. This version works well with silver dollars. The first TKO was not designed for coins larger than a half dollar. I must say that this version is an improvement for ease of handling with both cards and coins. If you are just a card worker, the uccu has a minor advantage of being less noticeable, as there are no false buttons.
The DVD has a lot more ideas and applications than previous versions. Also, it's a real advantage to be able to end clean with gaffs and transpositions. The only negative is that it will take practice. Of course, practice is not actually a negative - it's just that the device looks like you could do the moves right out of the box, and Jeff makes it look very easy. There is a knack to ditching coins into the TKO. I'm not sure if/when I'll get as good at it as Jeff. You don't want to use this until you have it fairly 'down'. I was lucky tonight that it worked OK. You don't want your coin to go flying across the room because you missed. The DVD is inspiring - to me anyway - in that it looks like real magic when done well. You may feel that it is too pricy at $85, but you get 2 very well made devices; one black and one white; an easy to learn DVD; and all the items needed to custom fit the TKO. Jeff is very helpful, and you get access to additional ideas and a members forum. If you haven't purchased any of Jeff's items but are considering using this type of device, I think you will get value from TKO 2.0. Dennis |

Dennis, thanks for sharing your experiences.
And much to my delight, it takes practice. That's half of what makes magic fun. The other half is when you perform and blow them away. |

Thanks Dennis, you had me at "silver dollar".
The question now is what to do with the older models.

Pompey2L.A. -- If you also work with coins, you won't be disappointed. I wish Jeff put more of his performances from the DVD onto the trailer. I think that would really sell it. He has many different ways of ditching the coins in combination with common slights (and gaff coins), such as ROV, French drop, shuttle pass. There is a one-handed vanish that would be great to use with a coin-thru-table routine, for instance. I like the fact that these moves are not just vanishes. I've done his coin under watch and it kills. The coin can even be signed. The advantage of these ideas, is that you can switch back and forth between 2 coins - all the while with your hands 'clean'.
I know I sound almost too positive, but I like the concept. I have used my own version (not as practical as TKO) for many years. It will take time to get the moves down - and that can be frustrating. Especially after watching Jeff make it look easy. He's quite talented. (He can easily do a muscle pass into the TKO.) |

Fancy this... my first post in the last 3 years! Though to be honest its really been 5 years (excluding posts about the faro shuffle in 2008).
I have gone dark in the last few years, and whilst I have continued performing and learning magic I made a decision not to spend any money on magic; to aid this, I decided to neglect the Café as well (how many times have you been convinced into buying something due to Café reviews)? I am aware that TKO and TKO 2 are getting quite a lot of attention and wanted to ask a simple question that any owner of the device will be able to answer. This utility device sounds like a must for any working card or coin performer, and I trust the great response that its getting on here. But my concern is the following: my fashion sense is quite "forward", in that I wear bright jackets and patterned shirts (not so unusual in the magic world I guess), but I am reluctant to damage either shirts or jackets for the sake of performing. As soon as I saw that TKO 2.0 comes with a sewing kit my nerves twitched and tears formed...So here's the question: if I'm reluctant to damage a shirt (definition of damage = poking a needle / safety pin through it) is TKO for me? This might sound rather whimsical, but ultimately my appearance is part of my character, and given that I wear different shirts regularly if a gimmick needs re-sewing then I will ultimately destroy the shirt. Sorry for being purely shirt-minded... but I believe I can trust you all to give me some sensible response to this... Ultimately if the shirt costs more than the magic effect... then which should suffer... Best. Owen |

Owen,
No, the sewing would not touch your shirt. I know that probably doesn’t answer everything for you, but you'll have to trust some. Jim |

The sewing is only on the button, which is third from the top and must be detached.
There is a way to wear the shirt normally. I received the tko 2 several days ago. With practice, it seams to be just as good as it is supposed to be, or better. I think this is my first post here. |

The buttons on the shirt don’t necessarily need to be affected at all. I never bothered any of my shirt buttons with my original TKO nor the early TKO 2.0 I have been using. Proper application of Velcro works wonders!

This got the first ever 100% on the review from Dave and Craig at the World Magic Shop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDZbfYYXlhw&feature=plcp
How ever they really did not like another effect that is also on the L&G thread.

Just saw the review of this on the WPR and I have to say; Why do I have to be broke? This thing looks absolewtely fantastic! I honestly wouldn't mind paying £60 for one of these, despite David Penn's 21 first century Toppit being just over half the price. I think this'll be used in many magicians arsenals from now on

WOW. Double 100%.
I'm not surprised. I use the U.C.C.U. and it was a game changer for me. So the TKO 2.0 has the U.C.C.U. and more. The bar has been raised! |

This sounds like a great product worth its weight in gold. However the idea of it not being ideal for left-handers puts me off it. Without giving the secret away, can anyone describe how practical it is to work left-handed and if adjustments need to made to a shirt or the product. I am very excited to buy the product however if it is impossible for a lefty to work my money would be wasted. Any response would be grateful.
Thanks KE
