To keep it real here...I think its a sweet impact full effect and its easy to tell from the trailer too that this one is a worker and for most of the real world performers its enough to invest in it IMHO

Didn't like it at all. 2+ minute "trailer" with maybe 15 or 20 seconds of effect. I'll pass unless decent reviews with some actual info are released. Jim |

This is available in the UK now. No one taken the risk and bought it yet?

This got a great review on the Wizard Product Review this week. Here's a direct link to a full, unedited, performance of the effect...
http://youtu.be/5qRATeMXTuA?t=17m40s Anyone bought this and able to give a review, I'm really interested in this. I LOVE Richard Sanders Identity, it's probably my "go to effect", and I think Smiley would be great for when people say "do that again". AA

Thanks for posting the review link. Doing it with the magi initials is wonderful
It looks really good. The gaff to vanish the image is so fast. I can't imagine this not being fantastic. |

And when the gimmick breaks which it will in time, than what? Amazing visual, but the gimmick will eventually break. Read some comments from the Ellusionist site and a few comments mentioned breakage already. Very very visual, wish the gimmick was more durable.

Hi all
For those questioning if this looks good or if it's a worker etc, believe me it is! I took this out over several gigs this week and it's a belter of an effect. It's visual, fast and makes a great little souvinier. R |

Hi guys,
I bought Smiley two weeks ago (and I also have Identity) - here's a short review: The DVD is well produced and the teaching covers everything: how to present the effect, how to use the Gimmick, some little subtleties & some different presentation ideas. The two Gimmicks are also good produced but I have to admit, that I am afraid of breaking the Gimmick, too. I think you can fix it yourself but it could become a "pain in the ***" - work Because I also have Identity I would give Smiley a 7.5 / 10 and Identity a 9.5 /10. Smiley is still a worker but imo Identity has a higher impact. Nevertheless at the end of the effect the spectator has a nice souvenier! Cheers Nikki

I am not sure if I like it. I think the movement to
pull the card out is far to fast, not magical at all and on the trailer I think you can see the gimmick. not my style, I like identity much more better, sorry |

Oh...yes...i do like it very much unfortunatelly, it broke. I had it in the deck, I did the presentation, then went over into some card manipulation and while doing that, it broke. Somehow, I am not able to put it together again, but that is more my clumsiness
But I have to say I am a bit afraid to use the second gimmick. Trying to figure out a way to keep it in the deck, as it really is visual and a great effect to get in contact "let me give you a smile to keep" |

Still passing. |

Looks very visual , but you can make ink move from card to card with simple colour changes without the need any gimmickery, not for me. I'll pass.
