My sister is interested in being my manager. I am paying her 20% of my pay check for each gig she gets me. But she has to put in the work to get that gig. She is going to work on my website, fanpage, and calling clients. Do any of you know a good percentage of what I should pay here for how much time she puts in to get a gig?
Any tips at all would be greatly appreciated. Patrick |

Managers don't typically generate bookings or get work for an Artist, that usually more an Agent. Manager's typically handle other duties, unless also an attorney.

Let me sum up. It us right there in the title manager. They manage things, not get you things. If you don't know the difference odds are you don't need one.

Unless she is wanting you to sign a very restricting contract,
don't get to hung up on what to call her. If she gets you shows, give her the twenty percent and call her boss. Twenty percent sounds like a fair deal to me. Tom
