Real grass is racist because slaves were forced to mow it.

A guy I know played college football and said that on astroturf it was a faster game and more injuries happened.

I trespassed on Astro's turf once. He snarled and growled. I thought he was going to bite me.

I think your friend was right, Santa, but I wonder if there are any data from the major leagues of baseball and football to support that.

Turf toe is an actual injury.
Football players on artificial turf and ballerinas believe it or not are the most common.

Thanks, Bob! That's an interesting presentation. The limited actual data presented appear to show that at least for high school football players in Texas, the installation of one artificial turf product ("Field Turf" in Amarillo) was not associated with any increased risk of injury. Even though 87% of 957 NFL players surveyed in 1998 preferred a natural turf playing field.

I like the look of natural grass better. I also like the smell of a park with natural grass better.

Agreed, Danny. A field of natural grass in the middle of the city was undoubtedly one of the appeals of an afternoon at the ballpark back when the first parks were built.

If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000
