Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh man. Loved him!!
I think I'll watch Escape from New York tonight. More sophisticated viewers may prefer "Marty."

Very sad news. I thought he was cool, he a legend, and I would love to see film of his life story. I loved his face and that smile of his.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

What a long and glorious life he led. I loved hearing his recent interviews; he was sharp as a tack.

Wouldn't call Marty sophisticated, but the "Waddya wanna do tonight, I dunno, wadda you wanna do tonight" scenes were classic and perhaps the first of that kind of slacker dialogue.

I love McHale's Navy as a kid too. And even when he played a "bit" part, you could tell he didn't treat it like it was just a small part.
Remember the episode of Home Improvement with Jack Elam (another of my favorite character actors)? "Home Improvement" Birds of a Feather Flock to Taylor (1992) Eddie Phillips (Ernest Borgnine): I was married to Tildy for 45 years, and the woman drove me absolutely crazy. She had these ugly little porcelain cats that she loved to line up on a windowsill. Every day for 45 years, I used to take those cats off the windowsill and put them in a cupboard. And every day for 45 years, she'd take the cats out of the cupboard and put them back on the windowsill. Tim Taylor: Where are they now? Eddie Phillips: On a windowsill. Tim Taylor: You didn't throw them out? Eddie Phillips: What for? You don't have to understand a woman. All you have to do is love her. |

Airwolf! My sister and I used to be very keen on that show and that's about all I remember of it. That, Ernest Borgnine, a guy with dark hair, and a helicopter! 95- good for him! R.I.P.

Marty and From Here to Eternity. What a contrast in characters. Love the scene in From Here To Eternity when Burt Lancaster breaks the bottle. "OK Fatso, if it's killin' you want, c'mon!

I used to have a toy Airwolf helicopter. I think it was made by Matchbox.
