Richard,

It is great to see you getting out to do more lectures. I think it is obvious you are a great teacher, as exemplified in your DVDs and books, but there's nothing quite like being able to pick your brain not only about effects you have created and taught, but just about anything related to the art, whether showmanship, the structure of a show and little subtleties that can only picked up through decades of performing.

I can't wait until you get back to Ohio again.

I don't want to set a bad precedent, but ... I think those who stuck around at the Akron lecture last year were impressed that you continued to teach all the way through getting your stuff packed into your vehicle and even a little beyond that. Not only are you generous with your time, but Lisa, too. I can't believe she wasn't tugging on your sleeve saying, "Richard, we have to go. No really, we have to go." You have a wonderful wife.

Safe travels, my friend.

Thanks, Bobby.

As you know, I really love talking about magic and mentalism. Yes, I could go on for hours, but Lisa does keep me in tow!

Ugh. Of course when I'm gone for the summer I miss the chance!

I would give my left leg to see Osterlind lecture. Heck, I don't need it for a PCT, anyway.

Richard,

Should attendees of the workshop on Sunday come prepared with anything? The very nice fellow at the shop wasn't able to give me any particulars.

Looking forward to seeing you on Friday and Saturday!

Hi Tim!

First, it's Saturday, not Sunday. The lecture is Friday and the workshop Saturday.

I would suggest just bringing a notebook. If I have a chance, I will stop and get a few, but you should bring one with you. Also, if there is any prop at all, that you want help with, bring it along. If I can help, I will.

By the way, I will have plenty of my new Practical Mental Effects DVDs as well as all my other DVD sets and most of my books.

Also, I just received a number of the new ESP decks, ESP Origins by Ludiovic Mignon from Marchand Trucs. These are, to my knowledge, not widely available here yet. They are very clever and the book has some wonderful routines in it!

Richard,

Are you doing any stops in Ireland/England on your European travels?

Robert,

This year it looks like we will be in Belgium and Switzerland.

But I am always open to anyone who wants to have us in their country!

South Africa, Canada, India --- it's about the same distance as driving across Texas!

And, yes Richard -- there are many places where, if you can finish the steak in the time allotted (an hour, usually) then it's free. But these are HUGE steaks, grilled to perfection! Approximately 75 pounds.

Hope you took some copies of the Principles of Mentalism! To everyone attending: BUY A COPY OF THIS BOOK! You'll thank me later. It's lecture notes to the Nth power; you'll be able to relive the lecture and find yourself answering your own questions as you study it.

There is the 72 oz steak at The Big Texan Steak Ranch - but that is about six hours drive each way from where Richard will be. And this is an actual Highway sign here in Texas:
