I enjoy the olympics and am happy the people who live in what use to be England got it. I am puzzled how they will pull this off since London is a crowded city anyway. Are they spreading it to other towns and cities or did they build new venues in London? What sport will the host nation introduce and is there any chances for a medal for a limey other than in ice dancing?

Having seen the venues and the city back in March, it will be a task, but the transportation system is good enough that the delays may not be that bad. As with all Olympics, many sports are at venues outside of London, and the Olympic Park is not in the most populated part of town.
That being said, I'm glad I went in March...

And what wonderful legacy buildings the London games will leave behind!
Seriously, I kind of like it. Except that there should be a slide / chute for coming down.

Glad New York lost the bid. Bread and circuses while the city burns. It would have been a nightmare of "security," "urban renewal," and congestion.

That's actually a really cool structure in person.
If you look around London, there's not really much of an attempt to "seamlessly" match new architecture to old. There is: 1. The Gherkin: 2. The O2: 3. The Shard: Pretty cool buildings, though...
