Hi,I am interested in Milton Erikson's hypnosis work.
I've read My voice will go with you. I currently reading Taproots by william Hudson. I wanted to learn more about Eriksonian hypnosis. Please recommend some good books of Milton Erikson's hypnosis work. Especially those that illustrated why and how it works. Thanks. |

I love Erickson's approaches. There are many volumes you can read about his work. Bandler & Grinder's approaches are excellent as is Rossi's and the many other books out there by Milton and other authors.
Patterns 1 is a good starting point. Also, if you want to apply some Ericksonian/NLP/Suggestion work to mentalism and psychic readings, I have an ebook titled "Eight Exercises Plus" that you might find interesting. Sincerely, Dale A. Hildebrandt |

Sychou,
Uncommon Therapy by Jay Haley is one to get too. Some say it is Erickson imposing his ideas about the perfect life and family on society. However you will learn plenty from the case studies included. Incredible book. Anthony

Solution Oriented Hypnosis by Bill O'Hanlon (who was Hudson O'Hanlon for a time) is my favorite book on Ericksonian hypnosis. O'Hanlon was a student of Erickson and Solution Oriented Hypnosis is the clearest, most accessible explanation of Erickson's work that I've come across. Last I checked it was available at Amazon.

There is at least one online too. I had an audio tape that came with one of the Erickson books. I had psychologist friends who refused to listen to it as they found it so unsettling!

An interesting book is: A Teaching Seminar with Milton H. Erickson by Jeffrey K. Zeig. It's a transcript of a five-day Erickson seminar. It's a fairly small group and he does work with a number of participants. Pub 1980.
