The FCM podcast is now in a new location on iTunes due to MobileMe calling it quits. So go to iTunes, search on "Christian Magician" and select the one with the FCM Logo pin picture. Then subscribe if you wish. You can also just go and listen at http://www.fcmpodcast.com.
Episode 47 is all that is up at the new site (which was the last one at the old one. More will be coming soon we hope. Apologize for the need to have to resubscribe for those who have been. Couldn't be avoided.

Hi Kif- sorry I did not get an interview to you with MagicBob and SuZie as I promised regarding their last Gospel magic trip to India. Just amazing- they had huge crowds this year around- in one location alone over 7,000 showed up. Yowsa. You may contact MagicBob directly to set up an interview (see his link at the bottom of http://www.ChristianMagician.org)- Bob has some really wonderful stories from this year's city to city tour (I believe co-sponsored by CCC). One of their shows was even televised. So if one can fly overseas and have the proper local promotion/organizers, Gospel magic is very much alive and very well received in India.

Nice podcast above Kif! Wow- check out Joey and Alexandra Evans' recommendation on the podcast: Jay Rumple's http://www.PerformersPrintShop.com - pretty inexpensive way to get some nice custom made backdrop signs!
Regarding some trivia on Franz Harary- he is a University of Michigan graduate (and orginally from Michigan) and used to do illusions on the 50ty yard line (while still a student) during UM home football games. Franz was at Abbott's Get-Together a few years ago hanging out- he was a very humble and approachable guy willing to talk with anyone about magic. Penguin Magic also started in a dorm room by another UM student. Illusionist/magician Alan Smola I believe will be a senior at UM this Fall. M Go Blue! Anyway, thanks again for the Podcast. Glad to hear that Frank Peretti's "Illusion" is going to be reviewed next(I loved the audio for this book). I know this is not a magic book, but I really enjoyed recently reading through Jim Cymbala's "Spirit Rising" book- really is a great reminder how we need to be governed by the Holy Spirit to have an impact for the Kingdom. Can't think of too many tricks that talk about the power of the Holy Spirit- maybe the Karl Germain water jars could be used or a lota bowl. A similar non-magic illustration on being filled with the Holy Spirit is Jay Carty's use of a water picture and a glass (see this on http://www.youtube.com under #5 under the Jay Carty heading. Jay is a former LA Laker and now lives in Hawaii). As just a total aside, Sheldon Rhodes at http://www.jestkidding.com was selling the equipment to do the corn syrup and food coloring "Laminar Flow" science trick: see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p08_KITKP50 Sheldon did this at our last FCM meeting in Kalamazoo- I've never seen anything like it- it was really cool and amazing too (but requires a ton of set up time). Sheldon sold a set to MagicBob who is going to do it for Ring 211 some day. |

I see the above link is not working, so instead put "Laminar Flow" in the search box at http://www.youtube.com - then look for the fluid retention demonstration where three food coloring dots are placed in a jar of clear corn syrup and then stirred into a muddy mess... then "stirred back" with an amazing result...

Hold on - why is my name mentioned at the beginning of this podcast as something that was discussed in the last one? How do I hear what happened in the last one?

I am currently looking for a way to put it online for sale, but I have other files on the CDRom that I'm not sure how to include it using Lulu.com I'll e-mail you a link so you can download it and see for yourself.
