Keeping in mind that it is no longer Jana, I'm sure it was still not pleasant.
Still, the problems with the family are probably finished and it did make it clear to all involved why the funeral staff were not wanting a crowd at graveside. Once I was scattering my Brothers ashes in the mountains on land where my family had lived in the past as per his request. I was alone and it was a windy day and a gust of wind gave me a face full of grit and ashes. I was pretty emotional as you can imagine and it could have really freaked me out but I just laughed. I know it's silly but I felt my Brother was laughing too. Sometimes you have to deal with things like this with a sense of humor. It is one of our most valuable senses. -Mary Mowder |

Yeah.
Two things concerns me. One is the are puttin my name on the stone and I want top billing. The second is there is another Jana L. Vaughn in the area and the death notice is causing her problems. |

I was wasted and wanted a really weird saying on the stone butbthey ouldnt let me. I won't say my first idea. I decided on 'beloved wife and teacher' because teaching was hr passion. My iater in law calls, a woman my wife visited once a year and we lived ten minutes away. She wanted 'beloved wife and sister'. I replied 'sister? She wasn't black'. My sistr in law didn't get it. So I had sister put on it. So it wikk have her name and dates thwn wife of me etx. My name goes on cuz I am the vet.

I always liked the epitaph Ben Franklin said he wanted:
The body of B. Franklin, Printer (Like the Cover of an Old Book Its Contents torn Out And Stript of its Lettering and Gilding) Lies Here, Food for Worms. But the Work shall not be Lost; For it will (as he Believ'd) Appear once More In a New and More Elegant Edition Revised and Corrected By the Author. Or the one on Shakespeare's grave: GOOD FREND FOR JESUS SAKE FORBEARE TO DIGG THE DUST ENCLOASED HEARE. BLEST BE YE MAN YT SPARES THES STONES AND CURST BE HE YT MOVES MY BONES |

Woody Allen had a great line - No. I am not afraid of dying, I just don't want to be there when it happens to me!

I love the lines on the tombstone of WB Yeates.
Cast a cold eye On life, on death. Horseman, pass by. It comes from his poem Under Benbulben. MagicSanta, my deepest sympathy on what you are going through.
