What a beautiful cat. I have a cat that 'moved-in' last september. She is pure white with bright sky-blue eyes, and is really georgeous.
Only problem is, I can't even go to the toilet but she's battering the door down to get to me. I can't move but she want's me. I even (believe it or not) have to sneek out of the house !!! I love ALL animals ! Bobby. |

Yesterday I stumbled upon a female redpoll, dead on a driveway. Looked like she had into a window. On a tree maybe 2 meters away, a male was singing his little heart out.
I have no idea what redpolls think, but it was hard not to be sad as I assumed he was calling for his mate. Little things resonate deeply.

Thanks again.
Was out shooting with my new camera today and a pair of geese gracefully posed for the test session. One of them, the male I think, wore a leg band. http://500px.com/photo/31710437 More here: http://500px.com/magicalaurie |

Very cool Laurie! I have been checking the legs of every duck and goose I have seen this year for "jewelry" and haven't spotted any. Great pics!

Well, I went down to the river earlier to see if the pair of geese were there again (they were), and I met a beaver. At first I didn't see the geese and so stayed atop the slope looking for birds. At one point I noticed something swimming in the river, and suspected a beaver. I walked down and the pair of geese were along the shore again, after all.
The beaver kept swimming back and forth, busy, I figured. Then got out of the river, hiked up the bank toward a sidewalk, railed, where people can view the falls at the weir. S/he looked as though considering whether to drop over the edge from there- not a good idea in my opinion- severe undertow I think would be extremely dangerous even to an expert swimmer... s/he walked into the brush nearby and I thought maybe looking for sticks. Climbed a little slope around the brush, heading back toward the sidewalk/railing. Had me wondering if s/he might have travelled across the weir earlier in the day when the falls weren't on. No easy way to get back if that's the case. Beaver turned away and started heading up toward the road- I interrupted that and beaver turned back toward the river. Good idea. Then turned back around and headed straight to me! Would have come right up to me I think if I hadn't spoken up, suggesting the geese and the river were probably the best way to go. S/he turned back, jogged to the river, down the bank and in. There's been some beaver construction going on there so I think this beaver may in fact be native, perhaps was trying to lead me on a bit of a wild goose chase away, but the way s/he was looking in the river along the railing had me wondering if s/he lost something/someone there. I dunno, and the geese weren't saying, so... Happy Earth Day. Turned out to be an adventurous one for me. |
