There is one older agent working at Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ. He is great, on the mic the whole time, chatting up and instructing the marks and when someone wins, EVERYONE walking by knows it. He has tried to inspire/teach the kids working the rest of the games, but they are just happy to stand there and let their minimum wage salaries wash over them. The kids will be gone in at the end of the season and won't be back, replaced next year by a new crop. Many on the midway are working a job, not a career. Sad, but I guess the front office is happy with what they have.

My grandmother was always against gambling but we could play some games at her house. As a very young child I remember being confused on what in the world the difference was. A game is a game. It's all up to chance, sometimes even a game of skill is. With out a little luck you never would have got that ball through that oval hoop.

I love how humans split hairs over their own comfort zone.

Funny how most anti-gambling fanatics are bible thumpers..... hey, someone here remind me where Bingo games (which technically ARE gambling) are set up?

I think I knew the guy (the old Carny that is). Didn't B & B end up as Desert Star or something like that?

What about when you figure out how to beat a carny game and they ban you from playing anymore? I figured out how to get the ball into the milk can, and after winning twice I was told I was not allowed to play again. There was even a sign saying they had the right to refuse me. This goes further than just gambling, that's called rigged, and all rigged games should be outlawed.

If the carny wants to fix a game to make it harder, they should also reap the loss when someone figures out their game. I was also banned from the dart game because I noticed the darts were not sharp, and it took an extra force to pop the balloons to win. I learned how to throw the darts to pop the balloons everytime, but was banned after winning a couple of the big prizes.

I noticed this year at the carny that the way the do things now makes it so they never have a loss. By the time you get the big prize, you've paid more for that prize that what it's actually worth in a retail outlet. There is a fair way to gamble, and then there is the dishonest way to gamble. I believe in jy opinion, it's good to shut down the dishonest ones.

This comes as a surprise to you?

Did you know that a casino can ban you if you're a good card counter, even though you've done nothing illegal? Same principle.

Are you saying the card tables in a casino are rigged? I'm saying some of the carny games were rigged, I'm not saying gambling is rigged. I got banned from playing those certain carny games because I figured out how to win on a game where there was only one way to win. I don't get banned from a casino because I know how to play blackjack to make my odds better.

Also, you don't get banned from a casino because you won money. Never heard of that happening before. If they suspect you are counting cards electronically, yes, I can see someone getting banned. But because they suspect he's able to count cards in his head?
