What's goin' on in Washington Square and Central Park these days ?
One of the last living 10-in-one performers. I wanted to be in show business the worst way, and that was it.

I have not heard or seen anyone in Washington Square these days
but Central Park has it's random appearances of magicians, jugglers, balloon guys/gals, and statues.

The statues have it rough. Standing on a mile crate isn't easy. Talk about being bored. And then the heat in that costume must be suffocating.
I know they're thought of as 'crate slugs" but I've always felt bad for them. But I have seen them make money with the posing pictures taken. |

I was reading a recent article about Washington Square now
being busker friendly from Busker's Advocates website. I didn't even know or realize that there was a rule in the parks that you have to be 50 feet away from any monuments. In some places that's seems pretty impossible, but I always thought not to block these things so folks can take pictures as they do...I generally work close to them...but in the case of Washington Square, the "arches" are considered a monument. The arches are seemingly a nice pitch...on the weekends anyway... Some folks say that busking in NYC sucks; except for breakdancers... But here is the article: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/stre......1.999502
