Hey you all,
I'm Alex Vegas I work for a magic shop on the eastern part of the state, and I am trying to get into the performance side of magic (as in being hired for a show or busking). Any and all tips you are willing to offer are welcome. |

Welcome AlexVegas,
What State? "Table Hoppers and Party Strollers" may help. Go to "The Sidewalk Shuffle" for Busking advice. Do you perform Stand-Up or Stage? -Mary Mowder |

If your taking to the streets then patter is upmost important!
I don't wanna sound offensive in any way...but a lot of magicians have no social skills...ive seen these take to the streets and it ends in a bad way. If you can entertain ppl with your mouth, then the card tricks just become more magical. You must also be aproachable, as once people on the street hear about you, youl get people coming to you instead of the other way round. finally...from the top of my head..... backups! street magic can go wrong many times a day, having backup tricks incase this happens is a must! and working them in so the trick looks like its not gone wrong at all. (this is also where patter can be a great help) |
