Over the years, I have seen movie trailers with scenes that didn't make it into the actual movie. I am curious how often this happens, and how close to the actual release date these types of edits are still being made.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

Very often the trailers are made up to a year before final edits are done.

What I've always wondered is why so many trailers are far better than the movies turn out to be.

I remember "Murder at 1600". Daniel Banaili or whatever the bald dude was named had a great line in the trailer that NEVER made it to the movie.

"You were born to be a chalk outline".

Nice imiage.

Problem is that chalk outlines are a myth to begin with LOL, but still a cool line.

Because keeping attention for 30 seconds is far easier than for 90 minutes.
