Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know about a new effect that is coming out on Saturday. It's called "Visions from Vegas" and is an impossible 3 word prediction that uses a Las Vegas travel guide. It also has a bonus 4 reveal Vegas postcard with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GS2ehWdn-A Imagine that a travel guide book is chosen, and each page is shown to be different. You introduce a postcard and insert it into the travel guide and demonstrate how in a few moments time the spectator is going to arrive at 3 random words. You explain that you are going to predict their future word choices by simply asking them a few random questions. Whilst you are asking the questions, you write 3 prediction words on the back of your business card. These words are unseen to the audience and are placed face down on the table or given to someone to hold. The postcard is once again inserted into any page by the spectator; they even choose the left or right page. 3 different words are fairly chosen in the same manner as before. Once the words have been chosen by the spectator and named out loud, they turn over the business card to reveal your predictions were correct. • WALKROUND, CLOSE UP, STAND UP OR STAGE • NO RESET AND EASY TO DO • POCKET SIZED • A NEW METHOD IN MAGIC THAT YOU WILL LOVE • NOTHING INSERTED INTO THE BOOK APART FROM A BLANK POSTCARD • NO LONG AND SHORT PAGES • GENUINE JAW DROPPING REACTIONS • EXTRA OPTION AVAILABLE TO REPEAT WITH A DIFFERENT OUTCOME • EVERYTHING CAN BE EXAMINED • BONUS LAS VEGAS POSTCARD INCLUDED, WITH FOUR REVELATIONS ON (The postcard is also customizable with your own messages or predictions) "If I did walkabout magic, this would probably be my mental effect of choice" - John Archer "The method is just as clever as the effect." - Gregory Wilson Kind regards Steve |

My original title was "Book to the future" and friends moaned that it wasn't anything to do with the film! Can't please everyone!
Cheers |

Hi Steve,
I'm referring to your Facebook thread...lol You asked for ideas for the title of your new book, and you had like a hundred suggestions. Most of them were probably mine.. Best Myke |

It's £49 plus £3 UK shipping or £7 worldwide shipping. It should be ready for despatch at the weekend.

I should mention that I use the phrase "A new method in magic that you'll love", it should really read "Believed to be a new method in magic, One that you'll love!"
Obviously I've shown it to quite a lot of highly respected names who haven't come across it before, but that doesn't mean that somebody hasn't come up with it before and not published it. Sorry for any ambiguity or confusion. Kind regards |

Just to keep you all posted that due to delays at the printers (doh!) you'll have to wait until next Wednesday the 8th before this effect will be ready. I'll pop a note up saying when. Thanks for your patience.

Looks like a pretty neat effect. Just curious why you picked Las Vegas for the travel destination?
Living here I would definitely be interested but I do think it is a bit overpriced. |

Hi MagicHart, thanks for your post. I chose Vegas for 2 reasons, one its a well known destination that people and magicians love and secondly there is a design feature of the book which I came across which fits perfectly.
The cost is actually less than all the people I showed it to said I should charge. It includes 2 specially printed books, a specially designed Vegas postcard, 12 page professionally printed booklet and 6 online videos of performances and handlings. There has been 6 months work gone into this as I had to have the guidebook written for me so as not to infringe any copyright. The books also have a 1 year guarantee with them, if they get torn or dog earred I will repair or replace them once each free of charge. Best wishes Steve |

I'm very tempted but it's a shame there's not a full performance video.
It's not like we could recreate this one ourselves even if we can see the method. |

I'll PM you it soon David. If anyone else wants to view the full performance please PM me and I'll send it to you too.
Best wishes Steve |

Just viewed the vids. I think this will play well. I really like how the page is selected by the specs and how the spec has control where to select the page. A nice convincer! The bonus postcard routine is also a nice added feature. Some simple card sleights to achieve this, but nothing knuckle busting. I really like the idea of how you can customize your own postcard for different reveals- a very nice feature.
The books look like they will last and are well made. Yes, another booktest, but as I stated before, I think the way the spec chooses the page creates more mystery in the end. Nice job Steve!

What is everyones definition of a book test? Is it any mental effect which uses a book, or is it specifically one where you read the persons mind using a book? Mine falls into the first category I think, as you predict the words they are going to choose first (in the easiest, free'ist and fairest way of all) rather than reading their minds.
I've had some really positive feedback from everyone who's got this so far. Thanks everyone |

I received this a few days ago and really like it. It's very clever indeed and yet simple to do. I'm a bit of a book test junkie, yet this one uses a method that is certainly new to me and if someone would have shown this to me "live", I'm certain it would have fooled me.
I think it's also great value considering the huge amount of work that has obviously gone in to this. It's probably the easiest book test I've seen too! No glimpses, memorisation or fishing whatsoever. Recommended! Iain. |
