I saw Cameron do this live and I didn't see how the bill got in the box. It's partly technique but mostly routining. I think this is a very commerical routine. You could use the same check over and over or have a bunch made up with your contact info on them and give them out as souveniers (Just prefold a bunch and stick them in a pocket).

From what I have seen in the demo, this does indeed look like a nice, compact little routine. I wonder though about the switch of the bill to the cheque, and how this plays into the Too Perfect Theory of methods. This doesn't apply just to Mr. Francis' routine of course, but the bill switch in general. Don't get me wrong, I DO a bill switch routine myself, and like it. But I have begun to wonder if method is not too obvious for any kind of bill switch routine. Just a thought, but not meant to distract from what does seem like a nicely-constructed routine.

Ah, great question! The switch in this routine is not done like the normal bill switch. Well, the mechanics are the same but the way you present the switch is different. Hard to describe but instead of saying, "Watch!" and doing the switch under their noses, you casually fold up the check while you talk and before they know what happened, you are suddenly holding a check. Again, I've thrown magicians off guard with this switch because they're not expecting it.
This isn't some difficult technique. It's just automatic. You are simply talking as you do the switch at chest level. Using the switch, this way, I don't believe it's too perfect. Simply because after the fact, the spectator knows that they were distracted for a second or two. It still seems impossible but not too perfect. Make sense?

Oh, and thanks for the kind words about the cheques. I purposely made them very plain so that you can personalize them however you wish. They just look like generic cheques... with the exception of the two built in revelations.

I forgot to mention, another great point with "The Cheque" is that all the moves are justified and look natural whcih makes this a very nice flowing routine. I am super excited to perform "The Cheque" I have a feeling this is going to be a big hit!
