This is why they were selling replicas hands over fist on ebay, you could find them sometimes for a buck. You can't be happy about spending $7 bucks for one fake coin. Do they look that much better than the ones on ebay really? I have some and they work just fine, most say copy but some don't, plus they stick to a magnet. I guess they just don't want anyone else counterfitting except themselves. ![]()

I am not touting Great American, but I did buy five copy $20 gold pieces from them. They are beautiful. I cannot compare them to eBay copies for I own none. The coins you buy from them are in a proof-like condition and legal, worth $7 to me (same price for the $20 coins.)
But I underdstand your point.

Please accept my apology Bill, didn't mean to go a bit overboard about this. And the reference you give here does appear to be a good source for some good quality coins when you can't get the real things.

That action site we can't mention here has just stopped selling Magic potions, hexes and all replica coins.

I found the green hands comment odd. I've used clad coins for ages (Ike dollars and Kennedy halves) and never had that issue. Every time I go to the bank I ask if they have any Ikes and I get lucky every now and then.
