Seen it, it's different. I was a little surprised on her treatment of some of the figures, but I sympathised with her never the less.

It looks like she took Monk's Playhouse down, can't find it anywhere plus I was looking to buy a copy of her Monk Dvd but can't find it anywhere...

I just watched Nina's new DVD, and it was interesting. I don't know how else to describe it. Was it worth the ten bucks I paid for it? Yes, I think so, I do not regret having bought it or watched it.
Does anyone know what year that convention was when she was filming? It was still at the Drawbridge, so obviously not this year.

A little personal side-note, when she was looking at the figures in Vent Haven, I saw my little "Moony" figure that I created and had donated to the museum.

My copy is on its way. After watching some of the teasers, I'm curious about it. I'll share my thoughts here after I watch it.

Oh yes, she did do a great job, but it is different....not a bad different....just different. Like I said, I don't regret having bought it or spent the time watching it.
And I know I would also enjoy an opportunity to meet her.

Saw Nina Conte on Ellen.

She killed and Ellen laughed and liked her.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was at different times funny, touching, strange, discomfiting, sweet. It's both a tribute to her mentor and the story of her personal journey. Like all of her stuff, it is highly original and clever. For me it was a refreshing experience after being so disappointed by Minding the Monsters.

One of Nina's first public Vent performances was at our Vent Festival here in Vegas about 10-11yrs-ago. Entertaining talent runs in her family. She was nervous but funny back then, and was accompanied/supported by her Father, actor "Tom Conti"(Scottish). Her lip control was superb. She has steamrolled in the industry since then.

I just finished watching it and I found it irreverent, poignant, and funny. Judging from the teasers I saw over the past few months, I was a bit worried that I wouldn't like it, but I thought it was great. It's definitely a keeper. To echo Bob, Nina's is a fresh and refreshing take on ventriloquism, and I welcome it. I'm going to add a positive review of this DVD soon on Amazon.

Very important...

Learning to use and stand on the shoulders that came before us, while traveling our own path..Perhaps a road less traveled.

Does anyone knows who made/makes Monk? Judging from the fact that another person in the film had a puppet just like Monk, it doesn't seem like he's a custom made puppet.

In an interview Nina mentioned that Monkey was a discontinued toy.
