I was watching Patrick's performance and it appeared as if he took a couple of "jabs" at you which made me not like him at all. Did you know about this at all? What is your opinion here? If you don't know what I'm talking about, please watch...

I'm not at all trying to rile anyone up here, but I think unless you two are friends (maybe you are???) this could be viewed upon as a form of bullying.

I was a FISM judge where he won second prize in Card Magic.
If I had felt he was inappropriate I would have had it reflected in my judging!
Truth be told I believe I scored him slightly higher that the winner.
In fact I found it quite humorous.
There's an old saying, "if you can't laugh at yourself, you're just not getting the joke".
I had seen the act once before at the 4F convention and I laughed out loud.
He even spoke to me later at 4F to ask if I was cool with his routine and I think that was quite classy.
I'm not sure he was taking a "jab" at me as he does say it's one of his favourites and then plays the music... I'm assuming this is the part you're mentioning.
I don't know him well but he seemed to be a nice guy and he is very talented.
Thanks for asking and looking out for me, it is appreciated.

Wow, great act!
I see no "jabs" or bullying, just some comedy targeted at an audience of magicians.
Maybe he was bullying Russ Stevens ;-)

I only asked b/c I have known other magi to take what I would consider "cheap shots" at others and it makes me angry every time I see it happen. My hope was that Shawn was "in on it punch" which it sounds like he was.

I just watched the link above for Patrick's routine, which I did enjoy and I just thought he was having fun making a reference to another performer. It was just a playful call back to an event at the convention.
