This looks neat.

Ability to easily have live testimonials
sales pitch, extracts from shows,
audience reactions, online effects,
talking postcards etc.

anyone tried it yet??

I've tried it.

In fact, I've got a live testimonial posted at:

http://www.magicteleclasses.com/kt.html

I've tried a lot of different things with AudioGenerator, but the audio testimonial seems to be the most useful feature.

You can get this done without signing up with AudioGenerator, but AudioGenerator handles all the support and provides all the necessary requirements that your regular host may not have.

Go check out that testimonial and watch how FAST the thing plays...

In fact, on the teleclass with Karon, we have a great discussion about whether audio on your web site is worth it or not.

Also, I wanted to give an example of one of the other features you get with AudioGenerator:

http://www.webdesignforentertainers.com/minicourse.html

I've included some audio COPY. Instead of writing sales copy, why don't you speak your sales copy? I think it adds a more personal and "real person" effect to your web site.

You don't want the audio message to distract people from the rest of your web site. In the case of the example I gave earlier, I write copy and speak the same exact copy. That way they can follow along as they hear the bullet points being read.

This incorporates the benefits of having audio and engaging multiple modalities, but it does NOT take away from the rest of the web page and what it offers.

Here's a tip: If you get AudioGenerator, don't use it to play a fancy jingle when people visit your site. It should be used strictly as another form of copy. No ridiculous special effects. People sometimes get carried away with cool technology. Don't do it.

Notice one last thing about AudioGenerator...

The visitor only hears the audio when they want to. It doesn't instantly start playing whenever someone visits your site. After 2 or 3 times, that would get extremely annoying.

But when someone WANTS to hear the audio, they click the link and BOOM...it loads almost INSTANTLY.

Welcome to the wonderful world of streaming AND compressed audio.

Okay, that's enough out of me. Go visit Tim's affiliate link and pick up AudioGenerator.

If your web site gets any kind of traffic, then you'll definitely want to take a more serious look at this cool toy.
Go spread some wonder

So, how would you go by acquiring these testimonials from clients?

If you don't ask,
you don't get!

Excuse the flipant response but its true.

In your followup process after each engagement there are multiple opportunities to request some formal feedback. You write, you call, you talk.
If you've done a great job and made the decision maker look great, then they will bend over backwards to provide testimonials, further leads etc in whatever format you request.

I posted a great request letter some time back in the newsletter.

It's really the same if you are requesting
a letter, sound grab, phoned in audio recording, whatever.

Some of the best testimonials I've gotten were from asking the question "What did you like BEST about the show?" Even if it was a terrible show (nope, never happens...), they'll still point out the good parts.

I get lots of, "I love the way you made Jimmy feel so special." And I get NONE of, "I liked the floating trick the best." This tells me exactly what I should provide MORE of (entertainment and memory-making) and what I should worry about LESS (the actual tricks).

Granted, your magic should always be top-notch, but there are also other things to consider.

Another question that works great on feedback forms is this:

"Can you think of anyone else who would be interested in this type of service?"

Then have a space for name, organization, phone, and email.

You also should ask: "May we use you as a reference?" Just in case you want you use their testimonials you'll have written permission.

Capturing feedback is a great use for your web site.

My free 5-day minicourse about web sites talks about different ways to use the Internet in our magic businesses. http://www.webdesignforentertainers.com/minicourse.html

In addition to adding the above questions, you may also want to consider including a testimonial "hotline" at your feedback page. AudioGenerator provides you with a 24-hour toll-free line for your customers to call and record testimonials for you.

You should really consider visiting the link Mr. Hyde has provided for you.

Best,
Go spread some wonder

For those who did check out the audiogenerator site mentioned above you probably had a play with the trial.
It allowed you to record a clip and then listen back to yourself via the web. Pretty groovy.

This sample offer has now been expanded
and you can now send as many trial postcards with your own audio to friends of your choice!!

Have a go here. (Make sure your speakers are on!)
Once you've done that, come up with some great ideas about how you could use it to grow your business.

Hi Timothy,
Just wanted to add that this service seems great and more suited to those living in the States, unless of course those outside the states don't mind calling the company there to partake of the service. I live in Taiwan and don't think I'd spend the money calling the states on this one. But then again, that's me.

JoJo, and others

If you have a website
you will be used to uploading files via ftp or other programs to a server.

As it explains on the information page,(click the link below) you are able to upload your sound files directly onto their server. Therefore the only cost is the phone call to your ISP.

Hope this helps.

What Timothy means is this. Go to Goldwave:

http://www.goldwave.com

Download their program for free. Install on your drive and attach your friendly neighborhood cordless mike (you do own a cordless mike don't you) to the line input on your sound card on the back of your computer and record your message. Save it as an MP3 audio file and now you have all that you need to upload it to audiogenerator.com at the link above. They will compress your audio file with their technology and load it quickly from your site.

Looking forward to hearing all of you on the net.
