Hi Dave, I know you are dyslexic but don't you mean burd !
As to the deadbolt ideas, both my ideas are skill based and don't seem to suit performance requirements. I have some others but no potential funds to develop them. Curtgunz ( I like the idea of a clown with 'guns' in his name ) your idea has much merit. Houdini had a similar idea. Actually he listed two tricky door ideas. I like thinkers no matter who they are, even though I am coulrophobic.

Ian
No potential funds? I have asked you to send me an invoice for the sight unseen lock and the cost to build the deadbolt at least twice Anyways. Wish you the best.

Okay I ordered the sight unseen lock from a company.
Still looking for a gimmick type of Deadbolt that would be found in a home door. Can pick the lock, but I prefer not to under these circumstances. Can be easy picking concept.

Now that was a really tough sentence what with spell, used and women! So quick reading test........ What does this read as:- ghoti (I will accept two answers). |

If they are dead do they need burying, alive need saving or would cremation be better? I don't think they are very bug are they? Surely a shallow grave would be best, mabel all you would need is a little leaf litter and a few minutes with a spade and just a little soil.
Maybe you could do an artistic thing and put some blood round them ....... And display them at Halloween ..... Real live dead bolts... Why call them deadbolts anyway. Sorry Curtis I seem to have lojacked your thread and gone off on a trippy coughing fit of a ramble .... I'm off to take my medicine. |

Dave, I know how to pronounce ghoti, but I disqualify myself as a teacher. FOr us it is a common puzzle.

So, I'm thinking I should do a Pop Hadyn type act as a gambler, gunslinger type guy.
I could use my real name: Curt Gunz No one would ever believe that was my real name. Never mind.

I have suggested that I have two methods that require some skill, you emailed "you don't want that, you want an easier way" As there is no G deadbolt, I would have to design one, but I can only do that if you give me a brief of what you are after. You write ” I am not allow to release too much info.........” I don’t care to know what “secret squirrel’ info is associated with why you need the deadbolt, BUT it would be good to know where it is to be fitted, on what it is to be fitted, how you wish to be perceived to open it, will it be examined, do you want it examinable after etc etc. All the stuff that an “Escapologist” would know. I cannot give you a price unless as you have given me an idea of what you want. Here’s a free idea, Use the key! As to the sight unseen padlock, glad you got one from the company.

Curtis, in answer to your statements above.
NO! NO! YES, no skill. In my world, no one would have known there was (possibly) ever a gimmicked deadbolt, it just (may) have been. It's especially wouldn't have been mentioned so publicly (even clowns are watching now!) I have totally lost interest. I guess that's the benefit of being 30 you can be smarter than someone 50, but when you are 50, you just might have been there before and just don't care any more.

Dude, this is a magic forum where people speak freely about ideas. People know about gimmicked locks/cuffs.
Stop being stuck on yourself, you are not a god, just what seems to be a grumpy 50 year old man!

Stop being stuck on yourself, you are not a god, just what seems to be a grumpy 50 year old man! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dude ????? Curtis I don’t know you and maybe I am wrong , but you sound like a spoiled rich kid that has a since of entitlement to whatever he wants in this business and is having a “sissy fit” because you didn’t get want you wanted !!! Yes, this is a forum. True professionals seek certain information privately. Yes, magicians know that certain things may be gimmicked but 99% would not know how it works. I know this for a fact because I deal with this every day !!! This is also a public forum. Now your “fans” can come see that you researched a gimmicked dead bolt and “YOU” lose credibility. Why would you list on the magic exchange you are looking for a sight unseen combo and then explain how it works ? Anybody that had one for sale would know how it works and contact you. Maybe just to show how smart you are and expose it to the other 2740 magicians there???? I guess they do know about gimmicks now. Or ask for an “ ADT cuff” ??? You don’t even know what they are called and then you come here and insult the inventor of these items, but I am sure you will continue to use them because they are so good and you don’t have the skill to use anything else! When you have even 10% of the skill, knowledge, or achievements of Mr. McColl than maybe, just maybe you can call him dude. As for being a grumpy 50 year old man ; I think in the last 30 or more years he has seen a lot of “ want a be’s” come and go who “ JUST DON’T GET IT” and it wears him out trying to explain things and share his amazing wealth of understanding on locks and escapes to them who do not understand. He may not be god but he is pretty dam close in this business. Then again maybe you just don’t get it… |
