Hi Alon,

most people say that you cant go wrong with Kostya Kimlat`s DVD "Roadrunner Cull", which explains a culling technique you can use while spreading the deck. Also there is a culling technique described by Dai Vernon in his Revelations-book (his annotations for Erdnase). I hope this gets you started Smile

All the best,
Sven ^^

Mike Close has some good writings devoted to the Cull in his Workers series. No. 5 I believe.

Great technique. John Carey is quite fond of the move and he has some excellent effects that utilize it.

Hi ixnay66, in which effects are Carey using the move?
And if you can be nice to help out where to find the dvd or books with the effects.

Best regards

Here's his rising card trick called "3 Chances" that uses a cull.

Seems to me, after learning the Roadrunner initially, that there is too much right finger action despite the way he says to cover it.

My reccomendation would be to find out which DVD set Michael Vincent talks about the cull (can't recall) and although not understandable verbally ( since I don't understand French terribly well) is Christian Chelmans French DVD on what he refers to as the BLITZ. Just watching it and the way he clearly shows the action made me understand it better.

Lastly, The Cafés own Steven Youell has some important touches on handling the spread for culling but those are his to teach:)

I cannot say that I know a lot of culls, so I'm probably not answering your question completely, but I learned the one cull I use most from Dear Mr. Fantasy. It's called "Cull de Stack." It's extremely useful in situations that I use (going through the deck first to remove a four of a kind, etc.). I've been able to apply it to a lot of other routines that require a cull of more than one card. FWIW.

Ed Marlo wrote up numerous Cull techniques. I have been toying with his Multiple Spread Cull.
"Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time."
"The dog did nothing in the night-time."
"That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes.

Marlo also had a useful culling technique for separating red and black cards.

I do not have the source close by at the moment, but this does address the OP’s request for Culls that help with tricks.

Once you complete the colour separation, you are locked and loaded for several dozen tricks.

Panlives: I don't know (or remember!) Marlo's - but my THE GREAT DIVIDE is what I've used (as have people all over the world) for decades to separate the colors (among other things). I think you can see me do it (not under the best of circumstances) if you go to http://www.youtube.com/harrylorayneonvideo . Best - HL.

Hi Mr. Lorayne,
You have a large body of work...where can I find this Cull?
Many thanks,

Card college is great! Book 4 (chapter 44). Roberto does a great job explaining the cull.
