WOW.

Gene Roddenberry was a visionary creator.

I'm ready for more uplifting forward looking Sci. Fi.

Bring on the next (positive) new thing.

Please DON'T make a show about the adventures of Captain Wesley Crusher... Please. You'd have to call that Star Drek.

There are shows about Captain Sulu and Captain Worf in the works.

Besides, Wesley dropped out of Starfleet Academy to travel to other planes of existence with the Traveler. I'd think that would make achieving the rank of Starfleet captain very difficult.

Takai says the Captain Sulu story was just an April Fool's Joke.

While Star Trek went in a military direction there are other formats that could work.

Traders, Truckers, Scientists, Traveling Miners, someone searching for someone in a big galaxy, Show folk looking for a gig, civilians in the same predicament as Voyager's crew or following the travels of an Ambassador or a rich Gal with unlimited funds and a yen to explore could all be fun.

I liked some aspects of UFO (that dates me) where they checked in on several groups in a limited way. A show about the future could have several stories going concurrently but under an overarching feel for the universe they lived in. Occasional path crossing between story lines as Star Trek occasionally did would make for some fun interactions.

As long as they don't start with the villains, political intrigue, crime detectives and horror disguised as Sci Fi I'm in for a while at least.

I really liked FireFly but it got a little too rough for me, especially the Movie wrap-up.

I felt the same about the FarScape Movie.

I've really enjoyed the Star Gate Movies.

I liked the Star Trek Movies for the most part except for a big problem with the most recent one. I'm hoping they fix that but I doubt they will. You know Directors, they love to change things.

My wife's definition of Star Trek: "A bunch of people driving around space, looking for something to do"... Smile

That would be the equivalent of saying "Dragnet" was; "Two guys sitting at a desk waiting for something to happen."

Every one knows, or should know, that Wesley Crusher, aka Will Wheaton, is only around to torment the poor soul of Dr. Sheldon Cooper.

Peace and Godspeed.

They made up. It's Brent Spiner who's Sheldon's arch-enemy now.
