Duane Laflin is putting out a feeler to see if there would be any interest in him publishing a good ole solid paper (and mailed out) "ADVANCE" magazine like he did before. If you would be interested in getting this for $45 per year, send an email to Duane at advancegospel@yahoo.com If he gets enough positive interest, this could be a go. I say it is also Gospel magic GOLD. MagicBob and I already told Duane- we're in!. I loved his ADVANCE Gospel magic magazine and read every previous issue cover to cover. I still refer back to the ones I have stored away quite often. Well worth the price.

Hope to see many of you October 4-6 at the Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater, Michigan for the ADVANCE conference with Duane and Mary Laflin, Joey and Alexandra Evans, Gilbert Adams, Rick Fisher and many others. MagicBob and myself will be doing a short bit on the Saturday night program. For details: call Mary Laflin at 406-291-2004 or email her at Laflinmagic@yahoo.com Very reasonable prices: $45 for adult, $30 for spouse, $10 for teen/child. That's a real deal for a three day interactive Gospel magic and balloon event! And the Opera House site is fully restored and beautiful just to sit in. Be There!

My wife & I also are "in" when it comes to the ADVANCE magazine, this is a bargain to receive top-notch material & advice from a working professional, EVERY gospel performer needs this! This is an investment in you & your show.

I just received an e-mail from Duane & Mary cancelling the ADVANCE conference in Coldwater Michigan. I very disappointed that this event won't be happeing!!! Hopefully they will be able to put this "special" event on sometime in the future. It was such a great learning oppurtunity for the gospel magician/illusionist!

So sorry that it was canceled, I was planning to be there for sure. The ADVANCE conference in Ohio is still ON per Duane. Absolute bummer, there just seems to not be many Gospel magicians in SW Michigan (or they cannot afford to take any time off).

I was planning on going to Coldwater from Boston, however since the change in plans I will be heading to Canton Ohio. See you there.

The Laflins are on the cover of the September/October 2012 issue of "The Voice of FCM" magazine. Terrific article- pages 6-10. The Advance Conference is set for October 26 and 27, 2012, at the Comfort Inn, 5346 Broadmoor Circle NW, Canton, Ohio 44709. Registration only $40: 406-291-2004 or email at Laflinmagic@yahoo.com Canton is also the home of the NFL Football Hall of Fame, pretty neat place to visit.

I was able to see The Grand Magic Show in Custer SD this summer as my family & I travelled across the country. I also saw shows in Las Vegas & The Grand Magic Show equalled any magic show in Vegas.

Congratulations to Duane & Mary on the wonderful article in The Voice. If you are ever out near the Black Hills of SD go & see this show it is great treat!

We stayed in the area for a couple of days & talking with some of local residents they also spoke very highly of the show (I didn't let them know I was also a magician). Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument & The Grand Magic Show, these are ALL must see!

Per an email received from Duane Laflin today: the magazine will be called "Grand Magic" and have a special section called ADVANCE which will be entirely devoted to Gospel magic. It will come out as a downloadable file/PDF monthly, will not be available initially via the mail. Each issue will be between 30-50 pages, first issue available December 1. The subscription price will be about $30 (check with David about that)- contact David and Teesha Laflin at http://www.laflinmagicstore.com for details and how to subscribe to this new GRAND MAGIC magazine.

Laflin Magic reports that they are getting their web site/store set up to take orders for the downloadable magazine soon- probably will be ready to take them in as soon as ten days or so from now (if not earlier). Smile I am not too proud to report that many of my favorite Gospel effects were purchased through or inspired by the Laflins (in their books, notes, DVDs, etc.) So well worth $30 to get a steady stream of new ideas coming in. So I hope most FCMers take advantage of this new resource.

I subscribed to "Grand Magic" today. The first issue is coming soon and I didn't want to miss out.

I heard about it from Duane and David first (that was my reason for signing up), but I thought I would chime in here.

I downloaded and printed out this morning the free "Look and Laugh" book and Issue #1 December of "Grand Magic" which you should have on your email if you subscribed to this web magazine. You can of course view the entire magazine in color without printing it out if you prefer.

All I can say is WOW WOW WOW- another outstanding work by Duane Laflin. I am doing an annual Christmas program for the local "camp" of the Gideons- all adults- so I was looking for new material to do for them as I did not want to repeat what I did last year. Found some great ideas already in Issue #1 which I hope to use right away in a few weeks. Thanks Duane and http://www.Laflinmagicstore.com A++++

Just for clarification, there is a subscription price to obtain "Grand Magic" on your computer. When I subscribed, they were running a special that you could also then download Duane's excellent 81 page book "Look and Laugh" for free with your paid "Grand Magic" subscription. An incredible bargain in my view for all the very practical information received. Anytime Duane puts out a magazine, it almost never fails that I don't end up using an idea or buying something (if I don't want to make up the props myself) that he describes. I already ordered this morning the new 2+2=5 trick, I hope to be using in a few weeks at the Gideons party. Nice!

I am thoroughly impressed that this magazine is stuffed full of great routines and performance practics and philosophy.
It's well worth the subscription as it comes to 2.50 per issue.

OK,

So am I the only one who did not receive my Grand Magic pdf? I paid for mine as soon as it was on the website and I got nothing.

I'd contact http://www.laflinmagicstore.com I was sent a notification on my computer and already printed it out in black and white (although it is all in color- I was just trying to save the expensive color printer ink). I also saw Duane reference his new 2+2=5 trick in the first issue of "Grand Magic"- I already purchased it and received it- another really simple large card type/words trick with a good message that can be used in a variety of ways.

Jamie,

Thank You for the advice. David emailed me to let me know that I had purchased this but somehow I was not on the email list to receive it. It is now all worked out and I have my copy. I have not opened it yet but I am looking forward to it.
