I have always been able to do a Charlier cut but not the triple cut, because my thumb does not reach to the other side of the deck. Is this common?
It means I cant do super duper cuts, nor the awesome blossom production or many things. Also I struggle with the one handed riffle shuffle. Any one have diffculties like me?

Yeah same here, although the stretch cut and the one-handed riffle shuffle doesn't require a long thumb. Many of the cool flourishes require the thumb to grab the deck by its width which is impossible for me.

You could tie one end of a string to your thumb and the other to a horse, then hit it on it's butt, or you could work with "sleightly" smaller decks. (Get it? Sleightly).
Another solution is to keep practicing. I have a friend who has been doing all this stuff since he was eight. Just keep trying and see if you can get a better grip where you don't have to stretch so much. As for the OHRS, there are numerous versions. Look out for different ones and try to pick one that suits you best. |

I have a long thumb but still have problems with some cuts because it doesn't bend over very much. My only suggestion would be to keep practising or perhaps try it with a bridge size pack.

I've got small hands and I could do the stretch cut with no problems. I could even do the Cobra,(you need a good lock down on the packet with your thumb). I have to agree with Jordini, just keep practicing.
Oh yeah, and yes I use poker size decks. |

I agree with SEVEN agreeing with me. (Hahaha). Eventually, you're fingers will start to stretch. I couldn't do the Hotshot cut when I first learned it. (My fingers didn't stretch for the cut part of it). That was when my friend told me he'd known the Hotshot cut since he was eight. I changed my grip, and immediately, it worked. It's all in the grip, keep playing around.

You could always try the Thumbanator 2000 at http://www.geocities.com/fingerjack/thumbanator . I heard it works like a charm.

I have small hands and I'm totally with Eddy. I can do the reach and knuckle cut, but some of the other stuff I see Tudor do, there is just no way. My thumb isn't long enough and its not going to magically grow with practice. I wish it wasn't so, but it is.
I did place my order for the Thumbinator, can't wait till it comes in! |

But instead of amazing people, you might scare them with the thumb.
