I just printed the manual out (sorry trees...I'm old school). It's over 1/2" thick.

Is the effect similar to White Star?

Yes, the basic effect is along the lines of "Out Of This World" type effects like "White Star" and "From Hell." The Performance manual discusses a few different handlings of this as well as about a dozen other effects that can be done with the cards.

The performance manual is written in typical Prof BC style - over the top and it makes this effect quite a steal at the asking price, even without the free gift for the first 50 purchasers...

The Alchemist's Bane arrived today with the Mutus Liber. Both are superb and will play very strong! Thanks to Vic and Prof BC for releasing such well-thought out and well-built effects!

I also received my set today. I'm having trouble performing "The Golden Mean" and am looking for guidance. As this gets into method I've placed a post downstairs in the Crypt.

My "Mutis Liber" came with a dead insect sandwiched between two of its pages. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not but I'm keeping it there.

I seldom actually laugh out loud at my computer, but that did it.

Maybe I should follow up "The Golden Mean" with that effect where you bring a dead fly back to life.

For those who don't know, the "Mutus Liber" also has the Darkspell ouija crib on the inside back cover.

I think you should send that effect back to the Professor so he could work out the bugs.

BTW- performed Death of Poe finally and I must say- I am disappointed. I should have been performing this so much more than I have! What a great effect with such a logical sequence that just makes the effect so worthy of learning Poe's biography. This is fantastic!
