Very useful and exciting rehearsal with Tobias Beckwith's support and direction last night!
Also faced the first set-up break-down of the Parlor set.... wow... long and daunting!
One week exactly now!

Opening Weekend…

You’re backstage. Wondering why you put yourself through the performance anxiety and vulnerably involved with performing… those butterflies take hold.

You step out into the house… into the light. There are expectant faces –strangers– but they’ve come to see you and whatever it is you’ll do. Hoping they’ll leave a little lighter or freer than they came.

They make eye contact. You realize the wonder of it is you love them all… that’s why you’re both here. That instant –is the Magic– of the night.

Magically,
Walt

The Second Week (yes, all caps) is coming up! I hope the performance has grown over the past week and that it will continue to grow and I tweak and polish based upon my great audiences.

Hope to see your smiling faces sometime during the run. Please send your folks to my site and have them “like” me on Facebook…. I already like them and consider them friends! Check out the San Francisco Magic Parlor…

How wonderful to discover that “story” style magic is effective with audience members who have a very limited understanding of the English language!

A lovely young lady brought her parents who spoke mostly Chinese, yet they sat there captivated.

Oh, it was her first live exposure to the magical arts too!

Come on over! Hear all about my new San Francisco Magic Parlor. We present Theatrical Magic with tales of wonder and shadow weekly. Oh! We like to be “liked”
