I'm away at the moment so I can't check either the book or my VHS vids... but I thought the version in Greater Magic worked, shall we say, with a horizontal (unseen) action... where as I seem to remember Doug Henning's version worked with, shall we say, a vertical element in the (unseen) action.
But unless you are building a show to be resident in a specific theatre (that's also very accommodating to your needs) I would have thought that the Greater magic version Michael suggested would be a good practical option for this illusion.

Jim Gerrish's version with PVC Pipe "handles" is in his PVC Illusions Book 2 (on my site) and it is called "Transfigmigration it seems the same effect easier to present with PVC pipe materiel inside the cloth. right? in Ebook , can we buy it? |

Not much of a stretch to add the PVC. There were 4 vertical supports in the prop Henning used. Creative magic had a version of the trick for sale when they were afloat. PVC will work, but you are still stuck with long poles for travel. Think tent poles with bungie inside. You don't need an ebook for this. If you know the basic method, which your OP suggests you do, the Henning video will give you everything else you need.
As Sealegs alludes, the dirty work is accomplished on a different plane than the version in Greater Magic (think 90 degree difference). Both are essentially the same trick, but each takes advantage of the stage in a different way. Of note, watch Henning as he ends where he began. This is where some performances fail.
