An idea on a UV friendly bird. I hooked a small blacklight in the lid of my "Bing-Bam Box" . It was pretty cool looking! The size of the light was easily concealed under the lid and the "darkness" of the front load of the box was just right to make the dove stand out. I am not sure if this would work in a Chalet "Dove to Rabbit" (I am not sure how much room you have below the lid of the front load area). My box is based on the Osborne effect. Just an idea! Run with it. You may be able to build into a "glowing" routine!

I use colored doves in my show and I feel that it really does add to the effect and gets a bigger reaction. My problem that I ran into is that I didn't like hearing people call them pigons (even though they are in the same family) but now since I close my bird act with a Blu and Gold Macaw my audience just asumes that I am using miniature parrots. I have even had several people come up and ask me about it in the past "what kind of parrots were those or were they cockatiels". It is very common for this to happen.
As far as the UV coloring, NO WAY would I put that stuff on my birds. MDS |
