I heard that if you place them in the refrifgerator over night it works. Mainly in one of the drawers. I havent tried it, but it supposed to balance the deck out. I imagine with three cards it would be the same.

Try to find a Fan Powder in a magic shop.
Also you can achive virtually the same effect using starch (not sure if this is a correct word).
Fill a plastic bag with starch and put the cards into it.
Then shake.
The cards are slick again.

The refrigerator option works well if the cards are sticky from humidity in the air that seeps into the cards. In most cases, packet tricks that get "sticky" are covered in oil and dirt transfer from your hands. Adding fanning powder to cards in this condition can make things worse.

I've had success by dampening the corner of a washcloth and LIGHTLY applying some soap and gently rubbing both sides of the card. Move from center to edge so as not to damage the edges of the card. Repeat with a damp unsoaped washcloth to wipe up any leftover soap and dry with a paper towel. Use very little water and even less soap. Let the card(s) sit to dry completely and try using them again. If they still don't work as well the fanning powder option should take care of things at that point.

I agree with Steven. Try cleaning the cards first and then you can use the Fan Powder. P-n_junction, I think you are thinking of cornstarch, which is often used to absorb moisture.

I agree, fanning powder works wonders on cards.

Cashmere Bouquet soap will slick the cards, without powder going everywhere. Just cut a corner off of the bar, to get a flat surface, and draw an "x" on the surface of the card. The late restaurant magician, Tommy Edwards, used to do this to rejuvenate old decks.

I haven't tried it but in an old Magicana column in Genii. Charlie Miller suggested cleaning playing cards with bread crumbs. so try rubbing the cards with a small piece of bread.

The fanning powder works wonders if cards are new and broken in. So there's a point when we need new props. I'm a chef and for knives there's a point they need to be put to sleep and get new ones as much as we love them. Also, if you get them new, wash your hands, dry them completely and then use fanning powder. The powder also protects cards from humidity and from the natural oils and moisture in your hands. Hope you find a good solution that fits you the best. There are great methods up there. Try different things:)
