He removed the picture of the wallet from the website.
I'm sure this fiasco is going to cost him a fortune. The problem isn't that he got burned helping the magic community by releasing his pet effect. The problem is that he didn't use common sense in selling it. If he wants to be a seller of magical effects, then he needs to stand behind what he sells. I'm glad I didn't order one of these. I'll stick with the Mullica Wallet and perform miracles the old fashioned way!!! |

This has caused such a stir in the community. Paul doesn't seem to see how badly his reputation is being damaged by this. He blames his customers for his mistakes.
Unless he offers refunds, he may never recover from this fiasco. How sad such a great magician blames people's tastes in color of the items they choose to carry. This is to be used as an every day wallet. The color is HORRIBLE. It's not a rich, beautiful brown but a ghastly looking product.

I would agree that for that high a price someone should get what they expect. And most of all, the color options should have been addressed before they were shipped.
That being said, I would really like to see some reviews as to the wallet itself. I am interested in getting one. (I also would want it in black, though) Jeff There are probably many, but I am trying to think of a lizard that is light brown. I can't recall seeing one on Animal Planet |

He posted a pic on his site of a black wallet and then sent a poor looking brown one. I think his reputation is in question here.

The German's have a word with no true english translation: schadenfreude- which, I believe, means being entertained by other people's problems. (Anyone who speaks German, please correct me if I'm wrong). Decision about purchasing this product will be based on the effect and, for some, the appearance of the wallet will be an issue. That has been stated more than enough. But the repeated bashing of Mr. Wilson and repeated questioning of his integrity is simply piling on. Move on already and deal with Mr. Wilson about exchanges. Now how about some reviews about the effects that can be accomplished with the wallet? |

The color will easily let the other one know that is a special wallet. (usaully black or deep brown will look more casual)

May I beg to differ?
Last year my wife gave me a beautiful wallet from a very high-end store. Color was very similar to the Predator. I think it looks fine. As soon as I've practiced enough, I'm going to ry it out. I doubt any spec will question it. Bob |

I agree completely. I am one of the recipients of the offending wallet, and I agree that it is a bad color. But this is a business issue, and should be resolved in a business-like manner. Paul Wilson is a reputable man and a respected magician. As such, he deserves the benefit of the doubt, and I believe every word of Paul Wilson's explanation about how this situation came about. The most important belief is that he truly did not contemplate that the color would be so poorly received. With that, he offered an exchange. Miscalculations and errors are a norm in business. I know. I have been in business for 25 years. The question is how the error is dealt with. And it seems to me that Paul Wilson is dealing with this in an honorable way. The venom that is reflected in some of these posts is preposterous. There must be a hidden agenda. Or a complete lack of business understanding. Gianni |

Paul had a chance to correct this and instead said color is no reason for a refund. BAD BUSINESS!!
He made some bad business decisions here and is making magcians, that bought this product in good faith, pay for it. I'm going to get my money back. I've notified Paypal that I'm dissatisfied with this transaction.
