Yeah, I am still looking for an old man figure
for this professor character I've developed.
I am not looking for an angry man,
but rather for one that looks more confused.
And is anyone out there open to trades?
I have a cheeky boy figure that I
can offer in exchange.
Thanks!

Here is an idea for you - if that cheeky boy figure is the Payes figure you've had for sale, you could always get him a new wig of gray hair, give him some slightly bushy gray eyebrows, maybe even a gray moustache, that could totally change his character from a cheeky boy to the type of figure you are looking for.

No, Dave, I've seen cheeky boy figures with gray wigs
and such on eBay and elsewhere.
And you know what?
They look like cheeky boys dressed
like old men for Halloween.
The result is not effective.
I'd rather buy a new figure.

Yes, Aussie, Mike Brose (not Brise) makes great figures.
I do have 2 bodies made by Mike (including one with feet),
but I don't have a figure of his yet.

My "problem" isn't finding a figure.
It's actually having enough money to buy
one that I like (without dipping into money designated
for Christmas shopping). That's why I am hoping
to make a trade. I do have some cash set aside
as my dummy fund, but not enough for what I want.
So, unless I make a trade or sell Willy, I will wait until
sometime next year -- or later -- to get a new figure.

Incidentally, I believe Mike's Sparky figure was designed
by Larry Lafontsee and the two may have more collaborations
in the future.
So, I am looking forward to seeing what new figures these
two talented men will come up with next.

Speaking of confused professor characters, here's a good one...

He's obviously not up for sale, but I'm guessing this is the type of character you're looking for.

He's somewhat close, Zuke!
Who made him?

I actually have seen 3 figures that are even closer to what I envision.
I don't really want a smiling figure, but I don't want a frowning figure either
(even though I am a huge fan of Jeff Dunham's Walter character).

However, with the possibility of a trade, I'll consider anything close.

Looks kind of like a Lovik to me.

I immediately thought the maker was Tim Cowles . I of course may be mistaken but I would wager a nickel on it.

Hmmm.....maybe.....I'm sending him an email and ask who made his professor figure.

Okay Jim, we were both right to a degree, here was the reply to my inquiry;

"The professor was originally made by Craig Lovik. I had Disney redo his hair and he was repainted by Chuck Jackson. Recently, he got a new body from Tim Cowles."

But just going on the head, he is a Lovik. I was pretty sure, I find most Loviks very recognizable (unless they've had some major re-doing).

Thanks for the info, Dave!
And in my profile pic here I am posing
with my own Craig Lovik figure.

Yes, even in that small pic, I recognize him as a Lovik. I've had quite a number of Loviks over the years, my first pro figure was a basswood figure from the Maher Workshop run at the time by Craig Lovik. I still have a couple of his figures here.

Yes, it must have been the body that threw me off Smile

I was definately wrong.
Glad no one took me up on the wager, I only have the one nickel.

Good eye Dave.

I have an old basswood-Lovik that I've re-carved/sculpted into a rather whimsical looking old fellow. He is still in the works, but if someone can tell me how to post pics on here I would be glad to show you a bit of his progress. You might like him.

Sign up to a picture hosting site, I use photobucket, it's free, it's easy to use;
http://beta.photobucket.com/
You upload your pictures to there, then copy and paste the img code for the picture in your post on here, and that's all there is to it.
Or if you want to send me the pics, I will post them for you.

Kenny Croes has a very nice figure on EBay that could meet your needs. You can also see it on his blog.
