God never sickened. Many poor men lied. Many sick men lied.
Magic never weakened. Magic never hid. Magic always ruled. God is afoot.
God never died!

God was Ruler, though his funeral lengthened.
Though His mourners thickened, magic never fled.
Though His shrouds were hoisted the naked God did live;
Though His words were twisted the naked magic thrived;
Though His death was published round and round the world
The heart did not believe.

Many hurt men wondered. Many struck men bled.
Magic never faltered. Magic always led.
Many stones were rolled, but God would not lie down!
Many wild men lied.
Many fat men listened.
Though they offered stones, magic still was fed!
Though they locked their coffers, God was always served.

Magic is afoot....God is alive....
Alive is afoot....Alive is in command.

Many weak men hungered.
Many strong men thrived.
Though they boasted solitude, God was at their side.
Nor the dreamer in his cell, nor the captain on the hill:

Though His death was pardoned 'round and 'round the world,
The heart would not believe!

Though laws were carved in marble they could not shelter men;
Though altars built in Parliaments, they could not order men;
Police arrested magic and magic went with them, ah!
For magic loves the hungry....

But magic would not tarry, it moves from arm to arm,
It would not stay with them; it cannot come to harm:
Magic is afoot! It cannot come to harm.
It rests in an empty palm. It spawns in an empty mind.
But magic is no instrument: magic is the End!

Many men drove magic, but magic stayed behind; Many strong men lied.
They only passed thru magic and out the other side!
Many weak men lied.
They came to God in secret and though they left Him nourished,
They would not tell Who healed;
Though mountains danced before them, they said that God was dead!
Though His shrouds were hoisted, the naked God did live!

As someone who was diagnosed with Terminal Lung Cancer and not expected to live more than 6 months, I can tell you that almost five years later, uncertainty is the worse, even if does teach you live fully every day.

But it is even harder for those who love us. It is even difficult to tell them how we really feel, because it hits them too hard. The caregivers need strength and prayers the most.

For me at least, I have lived a long and wonderful life. My only child, a son is already gone. But I am still blessed with 3 grandchildren. But they are young and don't know, so they will be fine. But I still keep the happy face, and lie to lady friend on bad days.

So indeed pray for his significant other. But don't forget to pray for Devious too!

And remember that Doctor's may be good, but they are not GOD!

May He be with the both of you, now and forever.

Devious, and particularly Lorena,
I feel for you both. Life for you both is now changed for the rest of your lives. I'm thinking of you and wish you both well.

Lorena, I hope the cancer is able to be dealt in such a way that your life is extended for some considerable time yet. Being told you've got cancer calls into a personal reckoning of what we believe, live, and hope for. It's easy to have self-pity but that attitude does nothing to improve our quality of life. There are so many things to be grateful for, including the support of Devious. Enjoy life as best you are able to in the circumstances. A positive attitude does a lot to help yourself over this difficult time.

You are definately not alone. my wife found enough strength for the both of us as I went through all the ups and downs with my recent cancer. you will find that strength within you. Hopefully you live in an area with a good cancer center. I used a branch of UPMC at my local hospital which is only 40 mins from Pittsburgh. If it is advanced stage or irregular cancer try cancer centers of america, they are in many bigger cities and have several treatment options not usually used. I had a very good advocate where I went who helped with a lot of things you will need and can get most of it free. I will be seeing her this week and get a list to get you started. My thoughts are with you both and I pmd you my cell number. I am available 24/7, Being on SS dissability due to this I have all the time in the world to talk. Good luck to both of you. I continue everyday to think of and pray for you both.

Having said that, allow me to be the first here to congratulate Devious and Lorena on another aspect of their lives, the details of which I will leave to Devious to share!

Devious and Lorena went off to New Hampshire on Friday to meet up and spend time with her family. Safe travels on their return home!

We offered prayers at Sunday services.

"Oh God, who blessed our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; Sarah, Rebekkah, Leah, and Rachel, send your blessings to Lorena and our Brother. Have mercy on them, and graciously restore her health and strength. Please grant her a r'fu-ah sh'lei-mah, a complete recovery. May healing come speedily".

I sorry to be reading about this. My thoughts are with you.

If this means what I think it means, then they are both taking the advice of CARPE DIEM! Bravissimo!

You both are in my prayers.

I too am sorry for your loss.

You know I've already replied privately, but I'll offer something here that I wrote earlier today:
