Here is a new Chuck Jackson figure I scored off of ebay from the original owner (they included the certificate). HE started life in 1985 as TRIXIE. With a little trim and wardrobe change, he looks much cooler (I think).

Image

Here he is in mid-change.

Image

He has moving mouth, side to side eyes, crossing eyes, raising eyebrows, and individual winkers. All silky smooth, although I'm not a fan of how Chuck did the eye movement in this early character.

Image

There is a little cracking paint, but I imagine it is just from weather change over the last 27 years. It is not bad enough that I would want to re-paint it. The quality is just superb.

All-in-all, best $150 I ever spent!!!

150.?! That's disgusting!
I looked it up on the completed listings, wondering why I never saw it, and saw they had it listed as a buy-it-now auction - lucky you, you were apparently the first to see it. Had I seen it first, he'd be sitting at my house now for sure.
Congratulations (hiding my jealousy.......).

I saw it and took about 2 seconds to click buy-it-now. It was my turn to get lucky, I guess.

That's about all it would have taken me, shaking with excitement while I was doing it.

What is even better is that he came with a fancy little girl outfit, stockings, shoes, and hairbow that will actually work PERFECTLY for another vintage maher figure that I've been tinkering with converting into an older character for some time now. It will most certainly be a little old lady now, haha. I bought that tux with tails off of ebay, probably more than a year ago for like $15. Was happy to finally have a chance to dig it out and use it (and it fits great).

Sounds like it all came together. You should hold onto that figure, if I tripped on that first, it would be a permanent part of my collection for sure.

I plan on it....unless I get an offer. Smile As Danny has told me many times over the years...once you have them they don't eat.

For $150 I'd say you legally stole it! And you are correct in your decision not to repaint him despite any very minor flaws. I haven't even repainted my own dummy 'Eugene' since 1988 (and even then, it was only so his skin tone would better match my own on television) !
Chuck Jackson always did very nice work...this figure should serve you very well (and very trouble free) for a very long time. For whatever it's worth, his figures have very rarely shown up in my shop for emergency repairs as opposed to some the other trendy contemporary (and far more expensive) figures.

I agree with 'Aussie'...good score!

A female to male figure complete with winkers and women’s clothing. This figure would be better suited living in San Francisco

It is a nice looking figure and a great find

Hi everyone. This little guy is for sale. There is one just like him on ebay now for $1000 or so (and it sold for $800 before that). I think mine is nicer and has cooler hair, plus mine has crossing eyes! I'll offer mine to my friends here at the Café for $500 shipped! I'll give it a few days and if no takers I'll stick him on ebay, start the bidding at .99 and let it ride. I think via that route it would probably go as high as $6-7 hundred (before shipping)...maybe more for a basswood Chuck Jackson loaded with movements. Most of you are my friends on Facebook, so just shoot me an FB message if you're interested, or let me know on here.

Thanks,
Matt

I know which Jackson your talking about, and actually, it sold for 699. and as soon as the buyer got it apparently, he had it back up for 999. - another profiteering figure flipper. He's got another figure on ebay for two thousand-something, and I saw it when it was on ebay and he bought it, I can't remember now exactly how much it sold for, but it was under a thousand - well under as I recall.

Dave actually the figure you are refering to is the Art Sieving figure which sold for $1450.00 and I was the underbidder at $1425.00. It was also in terrific ALL original condition but it now has been redone and the price trippled but over the past year the price has been lowered to now double. When it gets down to half what he paid it will be worth it. LOL

Did it get up to that? It has been a while, I remember watching it, but I forgot it got that high.
I love the looks of that figure, I would love to have him and put him to use, but......

Of course there's nothing "technically" wrong with anyone doing that, I just hate to see it because a figure comes up for sale cheaper, and there's people who are just buying them to flip them, of course with the higher price, it makes it less attainable to someone who might actually use it, or just appreciate having it.
But again, there's nothing said anyone can't do it, just seems a shame sometimes.

And as I recall, that figure didn't look that bad when he got it.

Yes it was in fantastic original condition just showing its signs of age but really needing nothing.

"profiteering figure flipper"....wow. I didn't catch that earlier.
