Before the 11th of November was "Veterans' Day" in the United States, it was "Armistice Day." And it is still "Remembrance Day" in the British Commonwealth. So at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, let us remember.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow May we also remember those who died on the "other side" as well. This day marks the end of a titanic conflict whose effect on our British and European friends and, now, allies, is still unfolding. |

Millions of young men sent to their deaths in the trenches just so Britain could stay in India for a few more years.
The best way to remember them I think would be to get rid of monarchy in Britain. I know the excuse used is that Britain was coming to the aid of 'gallant little Belgium' but I think it was a shameful cull of the working class.

Hi Markymark, much more than the flower of the working class was culled.
