@Futureal: A-HA! I've been waiting for this one. This is what I'm looking for, actual numbers, and telling me limits. You say that no-one wants to see a 21 card trick, listen to boring history, and see gambling moves. You say 5 minutes max a table, and 2 card tricks max. That's great! Now, with that in mind, I've got a bunch of questions:, not necessarily for the general public, but a little bit more personally (I'm assuming you've done plenty of table hopping, yourself, and are experienced in this field): What kind of magic would you do in this situation? What do you usually end up talking about? Does two card tricks mean two CARD tricks, or just two tricks, and that's it?

I'm doing 30 tables in ~ 3 hours, so 5 minutes per table seems reasonable / more than plenty. Anyways, Great advice, thanks!

What do I usually end up talking about? Nothing. I introduce myself, do a couple of tricks, say it was nice to meet everyone and I'm gone. Simple as that. You're not doing a closeup show where people have come to see you, you're, if we're honest, basically interrupting people's conversations to show them magic tricks that they may or may not want to see.

Re : two card tricks. I said that to try to get you to change your mindset about doing longwinded gambling demonstrations or crap like that. A simple colour-change or double-lift into someones hand is a better real-world trick than stuff like that.

Any other questions let me know. As always I'll tell you what you need to hear, based upon experience, not armchair theory.

@Daryl: I realize, but I'd like to change it a bit, so I'm going to have to make it myself. I'm pretty confident in making higher quality gaffs. I need a DF 3 AND A HALF of clubs.

@Zombie: Funnily enough, I'm also doing a bit of the music for the reception. According to my info, It won't be any louder than the chatter (Which I do agree, WILL be loud). I'm pretty sure I can project my voice enough, without being obnoxiously loud, for everyone of the table to hear me. Though, I will take note to do quick-hitting, and keep them on their toes, instead of taking a more elegant and slow approach.

@Adam: Great! Now to find my old ID...

@S2000: I will! Thank you!

@Futureal: Simple, quick, practical. Got it.

@everyone: Thanks so much for all this great helpful advice, everyone! Time to make a new faster, shorter, and harder hitting set.

@themagicguy: It's after the wedding, during the reception, before the food. So, it's unlikely that anybody will be drunk at that point.

LOL Don't be to sure about that!

Good luck!
