That's an interesting anecdote, Harry. Now I'm just waiting for you to write that book of stories regarding your tricks, other magicians you've known, etc.

I wish he would write it too! Believe me, I have bugged him about this good naturedly for quite a while. Come on Mr. Lorayne! Even The Beatles finally broke down and wrote their own story after a lot of pressure. Are you going to allow four Liverpool lads who could NEVER do your Ultra Move to best you in the biography department? Smile

Working on it as we speak! But please be aware...sure magic was/is an important part of my life, and I do write about it changed my life, starting when I was about 11 years old, but - it really will not be, is not, a "magic" book. HL.

We don't want a "magic" book Mr. Lorayne. We want the story of YOU. Smile

Atom, last I heard, Sir Paul is very close to a revolutionary new approach to the Ultra Move; I am therefore quite concerned. It has something to do with a Vox amp, a Hofner bass, and his new collaboration with Nirvana! Ringo is finally giving up on card magic and appropriately switching to finger ring magic.

That's exactly what it will be, Vlad - the story of ME, as if written for the general public. Will enough magic people be interested? We shall see. HL.

I still think that Lorayne's version is the best!!! However for an alternative I did see a really good completely impromptu verision done by Dan Harlan in his Penguin Live lecture recently.

I only know two versions. So, I lack the experience to compare versions. I'll never the less point out that the latest Linking Ring has an impromptu, borrowed, spectator-shuffled version by Colin Holtman in the March Parade. It looks great to me and should be readily available to many of you.

PS: And you don't need to cut any particular group of cards to the top - what silliness!

I could practice 24x7 for the next 10 years and be lucky to be half as good as Harry is with a deck of cards!

"Could be lucky, Walter?" Man I am. Though maybe not as fortunate as those who could stroll over a 42nd St café and spend a Saturday afternoon with Harry, Vernon, and Diaconis or Monday evenings with the Racherbaumer's Knights of Sleights in the South. Brook's Café is always open. The Virtual World may not be 'real', but it is great especially for loners in the boondocks. I feel so fortunate.
Heading over to the book shelf now and Harry himself has told me exactly which book to pull down. How cool! Couldn't ask for much more unless . . . maybe someone could bring the dead Great Ones back. Gosh, the plethora of books (new and reprinted), AskAlexander, DVDs, and online videos almost do that!! What is the world coming to?
