Orderered my first vent book yesterday " Ventriloquism Made Easy: How to Talk to Your Hand without Looking Stupid" by Paul Stadelman, Bruce Fife

I thought it was a reasonable price and I'm working to a very strict budget (i.e. as little as possible) so I went for the plundge. Not sure how good it is, I have seen Paul Stademan mentioned on here so I'm guessing it'll be good to start with?

I do plan on doing the learn vent course, but I'm not sure I'm going to find it easy convincing the missus that I want to spend around 60 quid on course that teaches me to talk to myself (that's how she would see it) Smile

That's a good book, bearT! I also like Stadelmans's "Ventriloquism of Today"..plus about a dozen or more others. When you
start making money doing shows your wife will really begin to like vent! Smile

I have that book in my library, most of the material on learning ventriloquism was taken from Paul Stadelman's "Ventriloquism of Today" years after Paul's passing, but at least he gave Paul credit by putting his name on the book.
I created a PDF file of "Ventriloquism of Today" and it is available for a price your wife can't argue with - Free!
Just PM me your email address and I will reply with the file attached if you would like to have it.

Thanks for the offer but I tend not to read e-books/pdf's etc, I have to have the physical thing in my hand to be comfortable

I'm the same way, I prefer real books, but creating the PDF was one way I could do my part to make sure it never completely disappeared.

Good on you I'm all for preserving the art too. Besides you can always print out the pdf if you need a physical copy.

That's the plus side of having it, you can print the whole thing, or just a section. And if you have an e-reader, it can be loaded on there.
But with that said, for my personal use, I love real books.

PDF's are ok for stuff that's out of print/very expensive, but other than that a book to hold is far better, even printed PDF's in my opinion are a nuisance, cost an arm and a leg to print, plus the folder you have to put them in Smile

That's why I created the PDF - I was afraid Paul's book might go out of print and/or become expensive.
But in the end, as I've said, I agree with you, a book to hold is better.
