Very nice. Loved how you used your tie. Great effect.

I've got to be honest...

That was confusing and uninteresting. What did the Sharpie have to do with the glasses? Then, what did that have to do with the tie? There's no logical progression; I think you need to string these effects together better. Also, with the Sharpie, I thought you were just getting started right before you stopped and took a bow. It could have gone on for a bit more.

With the tie, there were parts that the audience clearly missed also because they should have applauded, but didn't. Like the part where you cut the tie with your fingers. And in the beginning you take out the scissors and "cut" the tie, but you don't let the cut end fall; it doesn't translate that you've cut the tie.

All the parts are there for this to be something, I just think you need to polish it more.

May I ask what was this performance for? What different kinds of events do you do? I saw for a while you were doing more mentalism types of performances. Who is the character you portray?

Hello Rick,

This was for a magic club, I am mainly a corporate performer, I have two styles for my clients. I don't have a character not unless there's one that I don't know about in my head.

I thought that was very entertaining.

My suggestion would be to let the cut end fall, as Mule said. That just makes it seem cleaner.

I liked the idea of using a tie instead of the normal ropes, that was pretty cool.

Oh, and cool shades Smile

P.S. The song is just called "Bleeding Love," not "Bleeding In Love."

I agree with Mule 100%. I don't think that's magician thinking. Just good entertainment, and deeper meaning.

This will be my last post on here for a while as I am getting back to work, meaning actually performances for paying clients. Not ppl at work or family members or anyone at my school, as I said many times I don't put anything on here for you to critique, but you're more than welcome to, I'll give you some more videos from paying clients you can take some time to do as well.. lol and when or should I say if you actually perform in front of paying gigs please let me know I'll try to make one of your shows. If you want to contact me please call my agent that's the best way to book me. Please enjoy and give me a few more ideas I could do.

The thing is this. You must expect that people will respond when you post something public. It may be in alignment to what you expect to hear or possibly not. Keep in mind one thing though. There are many talented people out here regardless of their paid performer experience or not. I have paid and seen horrible performers. On the other hand I have seen some of the best in private non paid settings. We are not always talking about armchair quarterbacks here. I know musicians who can perform and be paid to perform on ANY stage yet elect not to. I would never discount their opinion because they don't have an agent or a paid gig lined up

When you post a video of yourself on a magic forum, be prepared for critique whether you ask for it or not. You open yourself up for this kinda of thing.

My opinion (not that you care since I'm not going to blow smoke up your butt) is that Mule is Spot on with EVERYTHING he said. Whereas I "love" how you incorporate your tie into the routine, it appears to be sloppy and not very polished at all. On top of that, you used a Red Sharpie in front of a Red Tie. Where's the contrast? Honestly, it blended in and couldn't be seen. If you insist on changing a sharpie to sunglasses (why?...what's the motivation and don't say "b/c I can") then I would use a yellow sharpie to contrast with the tie.

Since you screamed "your thinking like a magician" I also let my wife watch it for her "honest laymen opinion." She lost interest less than half way thru.

I know this falls on deaf ears since you and I seem to butt heads quite a bit, but remember...you asked for this b/c you posted the video in the first place. If you don't want honesty, then either don't post it or when you do, ask people to stroke your obviously fragile ego.
