Hi!
As a mental exercise, I've memorized 54 people in my life as playing cards. I'm able to qiucky recall the persons name if someone names a playing card and vice versa. My question is this: Besides being a "stupid human trick" of memory, is there any type of effect that I could do with this "skill" ? Thanks, Bryn |

Invite them all to dinner and seat them in Aronson or Mnemonicia order. Then...

Marlo had a trick where each playing card had a different person's name printed on the back. You may be able to adopt that.
Great mnemonic device, BTW. If one of your friends is named Tom, I will be happy to take his place at your dinner.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that (depending on how fast you are), you've done 95% of the work required to memorized a deck of playing cards in less than a minute, as well as perform tons of secret memorizations.
There are more than a couple effects where you speed memorize 13 cards or so, which once you figure out a memory palace or "trip", you'll be able to quickly memorize. Does it surprise you that you are probably able to memorize an entire deck just by putting people in your life into different sections of your home? You should really look into memory work if you like this sort of thing |

Just curious, why did you choose to associate the cards with women?
|

Thanks for all the responses. @TesiaTao- I did not just choose women, but both sexes, I choose the 54 most important people in my life. Some of the choices were obvious (queen of hearts for my wife, my strangest friend as the guarantee joker... etc) some were simply arbitrary and I had to memorize them by rote. I've done a lot of Harry's memory work and I'm able to remember groups of these carts (8-9) at time. I'm looking for an effect that does not look like a memorization trick, I want to hide the method deeper and give the impression that something else entirely has happened...
