Attention Acar or anyone from Penguin Magic:
What else is scheduled for December? (I'm sure tonight's Kenton Knepper lecture was great. I'll watch it after I download it tomorrow.) |

With the holidays, we had a couple schedule changes. I'll post an updated schedule in our next email (and here too).
Thanks for your patience, toberman Ps: Kenton was indeed great. I was blown away. His Chameleon Deck alone was worth it. So cool, so simple. |

Anyone know what Chris has in store tonight? (Close up, stage?)

Chris Randall works on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, so I'd expect stand-up/parlor style, playing to a crowd (or a small room).
Randall's stuff is visually strong and engaging, since it has to attract and hold the attention of passers-by. I saw him lecture this past summer at the Midwest Magic Jubilee in St Louis. He was excellent, and was followed the next day by Chris Capehart, who worked the street in New York City for many, many years. It was a great combination for learning about many aspects of audience management. |

Unfortunately it seems Chris got sick and they had to cancel..Maybe they will have back up lecturers one day, that could be a good idea. Hard since you cant promote it..but a good idea may be have a back up guy like Nate, do a small free lecture for those who did pay and then when Chris is back run it. Who knows, these are just ideas.
These lectures are great, hopefully one day I can do one. Until then, I shall continue to watch lol |

Unfortunately, due to last minute illness we had to cancel Chris's live event. And while we wish Chris a speedy recovery, I'm really sorry for the last minute cancellation! This is the first time in 46 Penguin LIVE lectures that we've had to cancel.
REPLACEMENT BACK-UP LECTURE When we realized we had to cancel, our team lept into action and I have some great news! Dan Harlan will be coming to do a special 2-hour Penguin LIVE lecture THIS WEDNESDAY entirely on rubber band magic! He is the grand master of rubber band magic, so it's a true honor to be hosting him. |

So Acar, is this complimentary to those of us who had ordered Chris or are you saying we could also buy Dan but Chris lecture will be covered by our payment?

Brent, great question.
What I meant was that if you already paid for Chris Randall's lecture, you'll automatically be registered for Dan's wednesday lecture. If you prefer a refund, just let me know. |

Hi Acar,
Just a thought. I noticed you have Colin McLeod scheduled for Sunday 2/3/13 which is during the Superbowl. If at all possible, you may want to consider rescheduling for the day before or the day after because I suspect you'll get more attendees. Just my opinion being that I'm a huge football fan. Ha Ha. |

Just a note...
My little "replacement back-up" lecture will not be entirely on rubber band magic. I am going to do some of my most requested rubber band routines (because Acar wants to see them!), but I'm also going to freak you all out with BRAND NEW MAGIC!!! I figure this is a perfect time for me to take over the studio and do whatever I want! I'm also assuming that most magicians won't tune in, so I'm going to do my A-list special-reserve after-party set (it's the stuff I never teach) and I may even tell you how some of it is done. --Dan Harlan |

I hope Chris Randall is ok, it sounds pretty serious.
Hopefully it's just his hollow leg acting up again. Speedy recovery Chris! DD |

Where can you sign up for Dan's lecture? I can't locate it on Penguin.

With that said, a lecture (whether this week or in the future) that focuses primarily on rubber band material would be awesome! I'm sure you have some new adaptations that have evolved since your rubber band tapes were made that many of us would love to see! Kevin
