Hey Everyone,
Tonight I was asked to come up with a balloon drum set, thank goodness not a life size kit. I would appreciate some direction. Thanks

Balloon Magazine #12 is all about musical instruments. It has directions for a cymbal and stand and some photos of a drum set.
Once I saw a photo on baloonhq of a snare drum that I'll try to describe. It used a black geo donut at the center. (on a real drum this would be the two heads, plus the air in the middle.) Then the frame was built around it. The frame was pretty basic. It was not strong enough to stand up on it's own, but did not need to because the donut was supporting it. I don't know if that makes any sense. I'll try to find the photo. It wasn't mine and I don't remember whose it was. |

Thanks guys, I had thought of the rounds with apple or tulip twists but I wasn't thinking through to the frames. I'm going to do some fooling around with it tonight using frames. BTW, on the pic smarty pants sent, it took me about 30 balloons to get the hang of those feet. Now I use them all the time on babies and my "moonshiners."
Thanks again, DAT

The snare drum was by Ralph Dewey. Here is a link. http://www.balloonhq.com/column/dewey/nov02/
My description makes much more sense when you see the picture. |

Thanks Karen. I looked through my collection of BMM and of course that one is missing. But the link really does help!
