I've always had the snowstorm in my mind as a fun thing to learn, but I was wondering if it's self working(I prefer)or takes massive skill that I just don't think I have to pull it off. It looks fun when I've seen people do it, but I really don't want to fan my hands, as I think I might be to uncoordinated-lol, to pull it off. Who has the best snow storm effect, and where do I look.

Go with bubbles for small kids under 10. All kids love bubbles you could even end with a cool huge balloon storm at the end.

I sent you 3 options in a PM:
1. A portable bubble snow storm. 2. Portable remote snowstorm. 3. Really expensive big version made by Kevin James. |

The traditional snowstorm effect is very easy to do, and light on skills needed. I could see it working nicely with your lack of costume - it would look like a real magical surprise. Somehow in a tux or a wizard suit, it surprises less.

Butterfly Blizzard by Jeff McBride is very nice, but definitely takes some practice. You can make a single butterfly go around the room with the fan and then palm a stack to do a butterfly snowstorm.
One plus: there is NEVER a single butterfly left on the floor, not one. The kids take them home. The minus is this is tough to do outside. |

Yo Zuke,
The butterfly effect is enchanting, but it's not just HARD to do outside....more like IMPOSSIBLE! (The single butterfly that is, not the storm) The best snowstorms I've found are from SEO...they cut the paper SUPER thin and use a special design so the flakes stay fluttering in mid-air longer. If you want to use a hands-free fan, youre going to need music, set on LOUD. For the hand-fan, it's no great feat of coordination at all, you just move your hand back & forth in short quick motions--something I'm sure most of us are well experinced in doing.
Everybody wants to beleive.....we just help them along.

Tora Magic is selling a remote electronic Snow Storm for just $335 that is totally portable and comes out of a super small metal carrying case or they have an option with a radio. I prefer the case version.

Gets a few more claps (yeah we all seen that before) 3. Then he takes it up another level and puts down the toy fan and uses the Kevin James method and gets huge standing ovation. 4. Then boom out come the huge confetti cannons! That's just like a firework display 3 minutes of magic with about $7000 in props (blower, confetti cannons etc) lots of money in props for 3 minutes of magic but agree pretty cool. |

IMHO take the advise of Sam Sandler. I have seen his extremely large, long snow storm in person, and I personally guarantee Sam's snowstorm is second to none.
