I was told by a prominent escapologist that there is always more than one way to skin a cat, and that someone who does escapes should have two ways.

In other words, you come up with a mental puzzle, but you don't rely on just one method, you always have two, in case the first goes wrong.

What do you guys think? Do you use more than one method, or have a back up method?

Mark Cannon spoke highly in favor of a reachable back up. That is while you are struggling to free yourself, if a piece of equipment is lost or broken you have another. There were times when I employed this good advice during my college dorm busking days.

I agree cliff. I always try to have a backup method.

Just wondering how many other EA's employ the double back up (or triple back up) system.

I think this goes under the broad category of doing one's homework.

On second thought...sometimes one is enough, sometimes two are nowhere NEAR enough. Sometimes I make it up as I go. Experience is always the best tool.
