Two days after Magic Wagon sending me the trick it arrived at my doorstep an hour or two ago. I had to pay almost 40 USD for the UPS shipping method but hey, I can live with that, especially because I really hoped I could be able to perform it for Christmas.
Now let me tell everyone that was able to buy this item you are all in for one heck of a treat. Just saying this trick is everything I hoped it would be wouldn'’t do it justice, it's better then I hoped … . Construction/quality: 10/10 - the materials used are superb quality. Everything feels heavy and looks professional (it IS professional hand made). A thing of beauty. The stand with the golden knobs underneath it, the (very heavy) stand itself, the tube, the lid and the gold plated blade, all will last a lifetime. Effect: 10/10 - no, this does NOT work like other die penetrations. I thought with Mikame's Final Penetrations things couldn't be better but I was wrong. This is miniature magic at its best. The props can be inspected (to a certain degree, but more then sufficient) before, during and after the trick. You have a tube and put a die into it and it falls to the bottom. Spectators can inspect as much as they want, nothing is gimmicked! You place the tube with die on the stand, nothing happens. Put the blade in, die is trapped. Take tube, take blade out and the die falls out. You now do EXACTLY the same and with no trouble AT ALL magic happens ... No, there is no 'spring' hidden in the base which you operate with a hidden lever, no, the tube isn't gimmicked/magnetic ... actually the tube doesn't even have to touch the base! Think about it ... No invisible wires, no gimmicks in your hands or attached to your clothes, nothing to worry about at all. Instructions: 10/10 - Well written by Simon, nice pictures. Easy to follow and it gives you hints and tips. Gimmick: 10/10 - Yes, of course it's gimmicked, but in such a clever way no one will ever figure it out. Difficulty: 9,5/10 - very easy to use, works like a charm. You have to follow the routine like the manual says to be as convincing as possible, but this is absolutely no problem at all. The manual says there is one litle step where something can go a teeny weeny litle bit wrong but I have not had that litle problem yet. And even if I did, the manual clearly says what to do. This trick is as close as it comes to ‘take it out of the box, try it and perform it’. Of course you will need a good routine and story, as with all magic tricks, so in the end practice is always needed. Routine: 9,5/10 when you perform this trick alone, 11/10 when you perform it in combination with Hydro Die. They should work FANTASTIC together (haven’t tried them together yet though). Overall: 9,85/10 (and that's because I never give a trick 10/10 ) - this is my favourite Magic Wagon release to date, Majestic Hydro Die is a close second and Blue Phantom is third. I would like to thank Simon Corneille for bringing us such a diabolically clever invention that is so easy to do. Thank you Magic Wagon for making this item made as beautifull and well made as it is. :applause: |

Delivery was made this morning to me as well. Very surprised at the super fast post. All my past MW always took closer to one week. This new release is one substantial and solid piece. Everyone will be really pleased with it. Bravo!

Received mine today as well and concur with Killertweety 100% though I am not sure about ranking it #1 on my list of Magic Wagon tricks ( I have most of them ), but it's up there in the top 4 for sure. Well done Simon and MW! Their effects and workmanship are top notch. You cannot go wrong ordering almost blind whatever they put out. I basically do just that. When the email hits, I order the effect immediately before I really even think about it too much as I want to make sure I get one. I know that even if I eventually have to sell, I should get my money back and in some cases could even make money (not the reason I buy these effects though). As you can tell I cannot recommend these guy's enough so if you see one out there somewhere for sale, I would seriously tell you to consider buying it if its your kind of magic.

Also, to you Magic Wagon fanboys like me...keep an eye open for magic dealers like The Trickery, who use Magic Wagon to manufacture effects for them. The quality is the same, and sometimes, the effects are even better. Here's just one example:
http://www.thetrickery.com/Mind%20Paintings And right below it (at least at the time of my posting) is an ad for another MW manufactured item: Penny Pour. I wish dealers who use MW would credit the effects as such...I think they would sell much faster.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

David, Chris, Charlie, thank you so much for your generous feedback! I am very pleased to hear that the Majestic Die Penetration has met your expectations... There has been different obstacles along the production process, but as you can imagine, I'm very happy with the final result. Congratulations Magic Wagon!

For the lucky owners of Hydro Die I have good news; both tricks work flawlesly 'together'. If you own both you know what to do and if not Simon or I will be happy to tell you.

Just received mine. What can I say, a diabolically clever peice of thinking so well done with that Simon!
Like several others on here I have bought most of MW's effects over the years and they just keep on getting better and better and this one is not only a collectable peice but a real worker too. Can't wait for the next bubble wrapped wonder from the guys in Thailand! For anyone in the UK or Europe who gets hit with UPS charges. We get hammered here in the UK for import duty unfairly (it's why they call it Treasure Island) and as I buy a lot of items from the US and further afield I've tried just about everything to minimise this. With my last few purchases I've managed to avoid it all together. PM me if you want to know more. Nick

Thanks for your kinds comments Nick!
About your new trick (how to avoid unfair extra duty & brokerage fees charged by UPS), is it available only directly from you, or also from any well known magic retailer? Does it works with Canadian currency? Will it last a lifetime? Any need for refills? Any sleights? Does it works for stage, parlor, close-up effects? Anyhow, I'm in! THANKS!!! Simon |

Hi. I am a newcomer to Magic Wagon magic. I am particularly interested in the Mini Phantom and Emperor’s Ring Cabinet and wondering if anyone has these items for sale. As I do not have anywhere near the 50 posts required to enter the Buy and Sell area of the forum, I hope it does not violate The Magic Café Forum rules for me to ask anyone wishing to sell these items to PM me in regards to these effects. Thank you.
Eric. |
