I just received my Folding Wand today which I ordered from Joe Porper 2 weeks ago. I asked Joe to make one for me that looks exactly like the one on his Website here:

This wand is a thing of beauty and a work of art. I LOVE it!

HEE HEE! Alexander Hermann is said to have made new wands quite simply. Dressing rooms in most theatres, had wooden chairs with round rungs. He would just remove a rung and dip it in paint!

I must admit, Rick, that Porper's "stick" is a lot classier! --But, it does NOT FOLD!---IT COMES APART!

Does the adv. say:; "Some assembly required?????"

It folds, it doesn't come apart.

Dick:

Actually, it does Fold with a very unique and well-made design: The wand both folds and then either screws together or unscrews apart.

It's pretty impressive. I called Joe today and talked to him about the wand. He's a nice, down to earth guy.

Rainboguy, is it sprung or loose?

Joe makes two types: The classic two-piece which screws together, and the newer style which "folds" with a mechanism that is also attached in the center between the two pieces. This style also screws together once the pieces are put together. I have both types and they are both awesome.

8thking:

The inner mechanism isn't sprung Or loose...it's secured to both parts of the wand with a bar that runs between the two inserts.

8thking, I think you may be thinking of the John Cornelius animated wand, that was sprung but a lot thinner and shorter than Joe's.

How is it weighted, good for spins and manipulations for a cups routine?

Oh man that is one impressive looking piece of hardware! (Like the idea, hate to think of it dropping... Definitely for the more refined handler imo)
