I am interested in joining Real Secrets but can't without knowing who I'm sending my money to.
For all I know it's Hank Lee. I like the concept but what if I join and find out it's run by my old nemesis? Not that I have one but other super-hero types do. Did they ever reveal who is running it? DD |

Pretty hard to run a business from jail.

Capone did it for awhile, then they sent him to Alcatraz. But Alcatraz no longer functions as a prison, so there may be hope!
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

I bet he could do it. He's clever.
I'm so tempted to join Real Secrets, it sounds good. But so did that letter I got about the free flat screen tv. Getting arrested for 500 outstanding parking tickets was not mentioned in the letter. And there was no tv. But this may be worth the risk. DD |

Don,
Take a chance. The agreement for subscribers says that you can cancel your membership at any time, and they send you the balance of your money. Try it for a few months and if you really don't like it, get your money back. Will Genii or Magic Magazine give you that kind of deal? |

If you like magic squares and other math-flavored puzzle tricks for your $180, dive in.

I quietly continue to be impressed by Real Secrets.
You open an envelope and are at first confused and even perhaps disappointed. Principles and methods are then applied and you begin to see the shape of something presentational. A little later other stories are suggested and digested and slowly the confusing envelope now seems very very cool. It all makes my brain hurt in a good way. I look forward to year two. |

Duane, I am a charter member and there has not been a single magic square yet. Are you confused, trying to confuse others or are you even a subscriber at all?

Several are dressed-up magic squares, including "Matrix Receipts," which was published in Genii, so I can name it freely here.
Yes, I've subscribed since the beginning. There was a stretch when I felt Real Secrets would've been better named as The Magic-Square-of-the-Month Club. |

Duane,
I have the feeling that you would call any method or effect involving numbers a "Magic Square." Do you understand the difference between a Magic Square and the Impenetrable Secret? |

If you like Real Secrets, I highly recommend getting Diamond Jim Tyler's Bamboozlers.
I found one principles in these books. Plus, much more! |

Well guys reading your posts it strikes me as Duane is very dissapointed with this fantastic idea, does he take the same approach with everything he signs up for?
Simple answer Duane "LEAVE THE CLUB" I'm sure you could have done this months ago but why did you wait longer and !@#$% about the contents??? simple answer you were curious yes or no Well if you answered YES then real secrets has done its part!!! TBH I love the anticipation in this club, what could be next that's the real secret Ive bought many items from dealers before and felt really gutted but not this one, in some ways its quite nice to have a non magic looking prop and ive even used items in close up. I cant wait till next year and at least if Duane goes then another new face could take the RS journey |

I'm just asking since I'm not a member, and, of course, I have no knowledge of what you've received. Good stage tricks for $15 sounds really nice! And again, I'm just asking- Real Secrets has been sold out of memberships? New members are only accepted if a current member leaves? Good for RS and all current members if that is true. |

Hi bats. Yeah I've used these items in a working setting. Good thing is that most of the items look innocent and they are not playing card tricks. They mostly are on the realm of mentalism (great on my part)
As for membership I think there are still places. Great idea give it a try |

Hi Bats.
No, nothing from RS thus far is stage-worthy. And I can't believe that anyone would imply that. All are for close-up only. Thanks! Jim |

Hi, Jim- I kind of knew that, but the way bigjay said that he "even used some in close up" sort of implied that there were stage tricks. At least to my silly mind!

I think that this thread and all future Real Secrets should be in either the Puzzle Me This forum or the Magical Equations forum.
